When Teresa and Kalu-inseparable 12-year-old friends-find these enigmas in the sacristy of the church in the idyllic village of Aiurê, they decide to act. Teresa and Kalu search an old trunk in the sacristy of the church to unmask Father Agenor, whom they suspect of leading a project that is burying the river and the waterfall they love. The clues they find in the trunk spark the girls' imagination and curiosity about the history of the village and its residents, and about the indigenous people who once lived there. The journey of the two friends passes through jungles, mountains and waterfalls, revealing that their secret enemy is much more dangerous than they imagined... but they get clues to the story from their ancestors and the help of unexpected allies. To their surprise, they reveal the villainy of Mariana - Father Agenor's sister - and of a mysterious businessman is behind the project. They find the motivation and strength to face down the bulldozer and uncover the indigenous history of the region. With the unexpected help of Miguel, the villain's godson, Kalu and Teresa need to muster all their courage to save the nature they love. Facing down the bulldozers sent to bury the river with their own bodies they are surprised by the discovery that their families are descended from indigenous people.
