In Nouméa, more than thirty squats were born on the fringes of the city. 4,000 families today live in unsanitary huts, often without water or electricity. They ended up failing in this way of life, attracted by the economic heart of New Caledonia, in search of a better life. In this precarious and sordid world, the children of the squats live carefree but excluded from the future projects of their own country. Snot on their noses and bare feet, they continue to laugh and dream.
