Beautiful Minds
On his 80th birthday, Tato finds some old photographs of a Marian pilgrimage. This discovery will rekindle his memories and cause a turnaround in his family's complicated situation. "Mother Come" was an unprecedented event in Spain. In the midst of the COVID-19 post-pandemic, an image of Mary Immaculate traveled 10,800 kilometers over six months through much of the country. Thousands of people accompanied the Virgin and many say that they felt her real presence and that she brought them light and hope in difficult times. The initiative came from a group of lay people and was supported by the dioceses, with the direct involvement of several bishops, some of whom appear in the film. "It was impressive to see how the doors were opening, how everything was taking shape," recalls the organization. The idea of 'Mother Come' arose from the desire to recall the visit of the Virgin to the Apostle James, since tradition says that she was with St. John in Ephesus (Turkey). That is why the image of Mary Immaculate flew from Ephesus to Zaragoza, and from there began the pilgrimage, which covered a total of 10,800 kilometers. It departed on May 1 from El Pilar to Santiago de Compostela, where it arrived during the feast of the Apostle on July 25. It then traveled through the rest of the country, visiting shrines, convents, churches, hospitals, prisons, etc., ending on October 12, Columbus Day, at the Cerro de los Angeles in Getafe (Madrid), next to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, "because the Virgin always leads us to her Son," as expressed in the film. The film includes numerous testimonies of conversions and extraordinary favors that occurred during the pilgrimage. Among these, cases such as that of Andy, a young man who, tired of living in a continuous depression, decided to commit suicide by taking 10 times the lethal dose of a compound... and miraculously awoke from the coma with no after-effects. Or that of Myriam, a young woman who was diagnosed with a rare disease at the age of 25 and whose life was cut short. The passage of the Virgin through her house, in Albatera (Alicante), was the salvation for her and her family.
