Jassi got married to Dimple in Punjab. Jassi lived with his mother Bebe (Dolly Ahluwalia). In time, Dimple leaves for Scotland and applies for Jassi's visa. Jaswinder "Jassi" Singh Randhawa (Ajay Devgn), a cheerful and well-meaning man, has spent over a decade in India awaiting a visa to join his wife, Dimple (Neeru Bajwa) in Scotland. When he finally receives the visa, he arrives in the UK, only to be met with the shocking news that Dimple wants a divorce. Dimple says that she is in a relationship with her boyfriend Robin. Turns out Dimple never applied for Jassi's visa and only got him a visa when she wanted a divorce. Rabia (Mrunal Thakur) runs a wedding band with friends Gul (Deepak Dobriyal), Mehwish (Kubbra Sait) and her husband Danish (Chunky Panday). Danish was married to Rabia's sister Zeenat, and married Rabia after Zeenat's death. Saba is Danish and Zeenat's daughter. Danish leaves Rabia and Saba behind when he finds a Russian girl with whom he finds a new source of Income. Saba (Roshni Walia) is dating Goggi (Sahil Mehta), the stepson of the influential and patriotic businessman-turned-gangster Raja Sandhu (Ravi Kishan). Goggi is a Punjabi and Saba pretends to be a girl named Simran to be with him. Turns out Raja hates Pakistanis. Goggi wants Simran/Saba to introduce her father to Raja. Heartbroken but determined, Jassi decides to stay and mend their relationship. Jassi lives his friend who asks him to hire a lawyer, meanwhile Rabia's friends ask to start dating again. Jassi and Rabia's meeting is at the same restaurant and they end up meeting each other. Rabia thinks that Jassi is her date, while Jassi thinks Rabia is his lawyer. Jassi wants to hire Rabia, but she thinks that he wants a prostitute and stabs his hand. When the situation is cleared, Rabia rents Jassi a room in her apartment. Rabia even helps Jassi by pretending to be Dimple when talking to Bebe, as Jassi did not want to hurt her feelings. Goggi proposes to Simran/Saba, but Saba tells him that they would have to elope as secretly she cannot expose her family background to Raja, who will never approve of their match. Goggi tells his father about Simran, but Raja is adamant about his son marrying into a respectable family and is opposed to Simran/Saba's relationship due to her background. Premlata (Ashwini Kalsekar) is Goggi's mother, while Bantu Pandey (Sanjay Mishra) is Goggi's biological father, which Raja does not know about. Raja has half-brothers Titu and Tony, while Ranjit Singh (Sharat Saxena) is the father of Raja, Titu and Tony. Ranjit was married in Bihar and that's when Raja was born. But then Ranjit came to UK to earn money. He washed dishes in a restaurant where he fell in love with the club's dancer, and married her, giving birth to Titu and Tony. Raja came to UK and broke Ranjit's legs but decided to take care of his step-mother. Raja hates dancers and says that they break homes. Goggi asks Simran/Saba to arrange for a family meeting and says that their match will never be approved without that. Rabia decides to present Jassi as Saba's father in front of Goggi's family. Rabia seduces Jassi to get him to agree to play this role. To help Saba, Jassi and Rabia concoct a plan where Jassi pretends to be a retired war hero and Rabia poses as his Indian wife. Their goal is to impress Raja and gain his approval for Saba and Goggi's marriage. Raja wants to know Jassi's battalion, but Jassi simply says that he is not supposed to reveal the same. They want to hear war stories where Jassi beat the Pakistanis to a pulp. Jassi ends up narrating the story of movie Border. While Raja is enthralled, Titu and Tony are not convinced. While Raja is convinced, but now Rabia and her friends are livid that Jassi is badmouthing Pakistan. Raja agrees to the wedding and also offers to pay for all wedding expenses. This leads to a series of comedic and chaotic events, as Jassi and Rabia navigate the challenges of maintaining their ruse while dealing with the suspicions of Raja's brothers, Titu (Vindu Dara Singh) and Tony (Mukul Dev), who are determined to expose Jassi's deception. Meanwhile, Bantu knows that Goggi is marrying into a family of wedding dancers. He has his associates Keshav (Nalneesh Neel) and Tyagi (Shrikant Verma) are determined to win Premlata back from Raja. Now, Jassi requests Raja's step mother to perform a pole dance for him, but she dies performing the dance. Bantu arrives at the step-mother's funeral and starts speaking against bringing dancer into the house. He was talking about Simran/Saba, but everyone thinks he is talking about Raja's step-mother kicks him out. Ranjit decrees that since there has been a death in the family, there cannot be any wedding for the next 40 days. Rabia serves Opium tea to Ranjit and when he gets high, he reverses his decision and asks Raja to complete the wedding as scheduled. At the engagement Rabia starts dancing which Raja objects to. Jassi stands up for Rabia and says that she was only dancing due to the joy of her daughter's marriage and that dancing is an art. Bebe calls and says that she knows Dimple had left Jassi and that Jassi is trying to help Rabia and Saba. Jassi wanted to run away from the situation, but Bebe tells him that a Sardar never runs after accepting a mission and tells him to return only after Saba is settled in her home. Rabia falls in love with Jassi. Raja wants Jassi to fire a gun. Now Jassi doesn't know how to fire a gun, so he says that he only fires tanks. So, Raja hires a tank and asks Jassi to get into it and fire the cannon. Jassi gets into the tank and by accident loads and fires the cannon. The ammunition falls right on top of Bunty who was coming in via the garden to again warn Raja about Saba being from a dancer family. On wedding day Danish is playing the band with his Russian girlfriend. Meanwhile Dimple also comes looking for Jassi. Danish tells Titu that Rabia is his wife. Rabia convinces Raja that Danish is her ex-boyfriend and admits that she made a mistake in her youth. Raja has Danish removed from the festivities. Next, Dimple arrives and begs Jassi to take her back. Jassi tells Raja that Dimple is his ex-wife and that he made a mistake in his youth. Raja gets Dimple removed from the wedding. Danish tells Titu that he is the father of Saba and that they are all Pakistanis. Gul explains to Raja that Jassi was an undercover agent in Pakistan when he fell in love with Rabia. But now Dimple reveals that Jassi is not an army man, but a simple farmer. Raja is now livid and declares that he cannot go ahead with the wedding. Now Bunty arrives and says that the wedding cannot take place as Goggi is his son. Bunty says that he will not allow his son to be married to a family of dancers. Premlata admits to Raja that Goggi was conceived before her marriage to Raja. She says that she married Raja due to family pressure. Raja realizes that his own family is not perfect, but Premlata and Goggi both assert their loyalty to him. Raja gives up his anger and accepts Saba as his daughter-in-law and invites Bunty to attend his son's wedding. Jassi proposes to Rabia and she accepts.
