Damini (Meenakshi Sheshadri), married to Shekhar Gupta (Rishi Kapoor), witnesses her brother-in-law Rakesh (Ashwin Kaushal) raping their maidservant. When the family chooses to hush up the matter to protect its reputation, Damini goes to the police instead. In court, she testifies against Rakesh but is branded mentally unstable and confined to an asylum. She escapes and finds an alcoholic lawyer, Govind (Sunny Deol), who reopens the case. Together, Govind, Damini and Shekhar fight to get justice for the maidservant.
