Vikram together with his childhood, orphan friend, Anand is raised by his mother, brother likely. Anand and a young woman named Asha is in love with each other. Quite unknown to the couple that Vikram is in love with Asha. Vikram and Anand is employed by the same organization and here is where Anand gets knowledge of Vikram's love for Asha only to step aside for Vikram to wed Asha but a major draw-back intercept the three lives when Anand gets intimate with a widow named Sheela resulting in her getting pregnant. —gavin (racktoo@hotmail.com) Vijay (Shatrugan Sinha) is the Managing Director and Anand (Rajesh Khanna) is the General Manager of a successful business. The object of Anand's attention is Asha (Jayapradha) a college student, and Sheela's best friend. Vijay tries to pick up Asha by offering her a lift, but she declines many a time - she is in love with Anand. Vijay's late dad and his mum had adopted Anand when he was a small boy, and the two grew up as brothers, and the closest of friends. When one of the women gets pregnant all bonds of love are shattered and an atmosphere of gloom, suspicion and deceit sets in. What will clear the atmosphere, and which of the two friends will Asha choose? One night while giving his secretary, Sheela (Smita Patil), a widow, ride home, Vijay has sexual intercourse with her, and she gets pregnant, but refrains from telling Vijay. Vijay wants to marry Asha, and when Anand finds this out, quietly leaves their lives, making them believe that he is the father of Sheela's child. But will Asha marry Vijay?
