Drei Freunde wollen durch eine Bootstour auf dem Rhein ihren Frauenproblemen entfliehen. In order to at least have some peace and quiet from his annoying wife Lotte while on vacation, art dealer Georg joins the two advertising experts Harry and Jerome, who are working feverishly on a toothpaste advertisement during the vacations. Together, the three men buy a small motorboat and sail alone across Lake Constance in the hope of finding peace and quiet. However, the men don't keep to themselves for long, as Harry's temperamental ex-lover Julischka and Georg's worried wife Lotte set heaven and hell in motion to regain control of their fugitive husbands. Now all that remains for the straw widows is to flee forwards: downstream to Amsterdam. —ARD
