Mita is alone, she begins to write her autobiography. She loved a man named Prolojit, but he turned out to be a cheat, liar and characterless. Prolojit is also engaged with another woman, Priyanka. When Mita finds out, she is terribly shocked. She has a sister named Gita and father named Shantimoy who is ill. Dr. Ranjan Ghosh looks after Mita's father. Mita then falls in love with Dr. Ranjan, but it is an irony of fate that Dr. Ranjan loves her sister, Gita. Mita arranges for their wedding, but Dr. Ranjan dies in a plane crash. Gita loses her mind and Mita's father loses his voice.
