A history professor has a chance meeting with an infamous outlaw and eventually assumes leadership of his gang. History Professor Brad Fletcher heads west for his health, but falls in with Soloman Bennett's outlaw gang. Fascinated by their way of life, Fletcher finally takes over the gang, leading with a new 'efficient' ruthlessness. —Tom Seldon <elpuro@msn.com> Upstanding history professor Brad Fletcher is forced into retirement by his poor health and moves west for the warmer climate. Almost as soon as he arrives, however, he is taken hostage by famed bandit Solomon Bennet in an accidental confrontation, and by necessity is forced to take up with his cohorts. But the learned man's growing identification with the gang encourages him to stage a takeover from Bennet, and a new crueler system of leadership is put into place. —Eureka Video History professor Brad Fletcher (Gian Maria Volontè) has to resign from his teaching position for health reasons. He therefore decides that a move would be appropriate and relocates to warmer Texas, where he is promptly kidnapped by bandit Solomon "Beauregard" Bennett (Tomas Milian) and held hostage. As the aggressive and violent Bennett, who is actually a pacifist, leads Fletcher through the desert, the two men gradually develop an appreciation for each other and realize that they have more in common than they initially thought. After Fletcher saves Bennett's life, their bond grows stronger, and soon the former professor feels quite at home with Bennett and the rest of his gang. The more time he spends with them, the closer he feels to the outlaws, and before long, he is riding with them and helping to rob banks. Tensions between Bennett and Fletcher rise as the ex-professor tries to take control of the gang. —SRF
