For Such a Time As This
For Such a Time as This chronicles Kevin Smith's meaningful journey and personal struggles following an act of kindness on Good Friday morning 2023. It subsequently inspired him to found the global nonprofit Kindness Worldwide which has a vision "to create a culture of kindness in communities throughout the world." The act of kindness was profoundly life-changing. A mere attempt to identify a Good Samaritan woman who returned his lost wallet and thank her in a more meaningful way was the catalyst for an adventure of a lifetime that continues to this day. Countless serendipitous moments characterized the fascinating story it became that turned a moment into a movement to change the world through kindness. Pathways miraculously opened to make a meaningful difference to bring people and communities together to celebrate Kindness and elevate it as humanity's greatest asset through formal recognition among government bodies. The original heartwarming story of an act of kindness between two strangers assumes an unexpected twist and becomes a matter of life and death, with raw and powerful emotional scenes of Kevin and the young Good Samaritan woman who returned his lost wallet reliving the life-changing and life-saving experience in real time when reunited for the first time since. Additional stories of the transformative power of kindness become interwoven with the primary story as a result of its vast ripple effects that unleashed a fascinating chain of events full of numerous "coincidences" few would believe. Emotions are raw when multiple experiences are relived among those whose lives were changed and even saved by acts of kindness. Among them is a touching story of a woman who would have died from domestic violence were it not for the courageous kindness of 2 neighbors who saved her, and traveled from overseas to surprise her years later to witness the fulfillment of her childhood dream. The film concludes with a powerful and uplifting call to action that will reveal the magic in our midst and the opportunity for audiences to write this beautiful story's future chapters.
