From the South: The Revenge
Chaos and violence have engulfed the region known as the drug trafficking corridor between the borders of Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraguay, and Bolivia. The unorthodox Prosecutor Lúcia Petra and the determined agent Samuel Aguiar begin to piece together a complex puzzle of the dispute between criminal factions for control of the region's smuggling and trafficking routes, with the help of informant FEBEM. FEBEM tells the Prosecutor that all this carnage began after a couple was murdered. The young woman was Adriana, the only daughter of Jacaré, the kingpin of clandestine operations on the border. His daughter's death profoundly affected Jacaré, leading him to abandon his role in this complicated underworld of illicit routes. Without him, that place becomes a battleground, turning into a no man's land. Jacaré doesn't know who killed his daughter, but he knows someone very powerful is plotting his death. To further complicate Jacaré's situation, his daughter's boyfriend's father is none other than Col. Massada, a tough ex-colonel from the border who blames Jacaré and seeks revenge for his son's death. The main confrontation occurs in a bar in Campo Grande. Col. Massada starts an argument with Jacaré, and before the two can settle it with bullets, the bar is invaded by a gang of traffickers hired to eliminate everyone on the border who gets in their way and seize control of the drug corridor. At this moment, everyone learns the identity of the mastermind, the true villain of the story: a man known by the code name "Deputado" (Alexandre Nero), responsible for the wave of violence plaguing the region. All seemed lost for Jacaré and his associates, but the criminals forgot one thing: they were in Mato Grosso... do Sul. It's best to know where you are.
