Hatyara is the story of Daulta Singh, a good man who accidentally murders a man one day, leaving the man's widowed wife and son almost destitute. His conscience makes him surrender to the police, who takes him to the court, where he is announced to serve life imprisonment. All of the money he earns in jail, he sends to the widow and son of the man he accidentally killed. Due to his good conduct, he released from jail after 7 years. When he comes back, he tries to do as much good for the man's son and his own children as possible. However, because of series of misunderstandings and a host of villains, things only complicate all the more.
