Hotel Paradis
Henrik and Emilie Schultze rents the Hotel Paradis in a small, poor fishing village by the coast. An early crime drama from the infancy of tone films. It is an ambitious film set on the west coast of Jutland, where a married couple runs an inn. They do this badly, and they are therefore in great financial difficulties. They find the solution - which on the moral side turns out to be extremely temporary - when they murder a casualty naval officer and steal his money. George Schnéevoigt tries his hand at expressive, dark images and creates an eerie, windswept atmosphere in a scary drama, which is a far cry from the fun games he later came to make a lot of. —Nordiskfilm
