Idi Modalu, which means ''beginning'' in Telugu, is an anthology feature film that will have five shorts - each of thirty minutes, with five individual teams coming together to make a two hour thirty minutes movie. Each stage of human life will be explored through this film. Five stages, five stories, five directors and one film. We deliberately do not want to reveal the plot of the film since it is essential to the overall strategy we have in mind to engage the audience. We want to present a simple idea. The 5 stages of human life and a chance to make this the first people's film from Andhra Pradesh. The film will be the first ever crowd-funded Telugu feature. The collective nature of the film's story made it necessary that the film should be produced as a collective effort from the people. Perhaps for the first time, Indian cinema is looking to source talent from the audience.
