Internet, fais-moi peur!
A lawyer probes a Nazi scientist who fled to Canada with Holocaust victims' gold. As his daughter joins the investigation, she discovers inconsistencies in his story and questions his true role. A Montreal lawyer believes he has uncovered a historical conspiracy involving a carefully hidden fortune of misappropriated undeclared gold bars originating from Holocaust victims. His investigation leads him to what he believes is a top Nazi SS scientist who immigrated to Canada under a fake Jewish name with vast amounts of stolen gold bars appropriated during the Shoah. When his estranged daughter reluctantly joins his very public investigation, she begins to learn that not everything her father says adds up and there is more to the story and his involvement than he wants her and everyone else to know. Tells of Montréal lawyer Glenn Joseph Feldman and the issue that has consumed his life for the past several years. His actual involvement dates back close to forty years when, in 1983, his then business partner and best friend (who cannot be named for legal reasons) asked him to probate a will for the just deceased Ludwig Delphiner, Joseph earlier advising him to get Delphiner, close to his death at the time, to draft said will and have it notarized, it which leaves the estate to business partner's father. Joseph admitting his own illegal action "for a friend" in "witnessing" Delphiner's signature in what was the then unwitnessed document (i.e Joseph never witnessed Delphiner signing the will when Joseph signed it), they subsequently asked him to do an inventory of the estate at Delphiner's house. Fast forward to the mid to late 2010s. Business partner has begun to live the high life as a multi-millionaire. Joseph begins to believe, based on what he thinks he saw in 1983 in Delphiner's basement "bunker", that business partner is living off the proceeds of Nazi gold in the several billion in Delphiner having been a Nazi officer, and that the will itself was never really signed by Delphiner. Joseph not only embarked on a mission to prove his theory, but made some highly inflammatory statements about business partner in the process without yet having discovered that truth. In an effort to add some objective eyes and to be supportive of a man she loves, Joseph's daughter Alex Feldman, two years later, enters the investigation if for no other reason so that Joseph can have some closure on the issue no matter the outcome. Beyond Joseph and Alex, professionals, some who end up being directly involved, provide their expert opinions on the matter, they who can agree on the following: that Joseph has some kernels of truth within his research but those truths are mixed with much of Joseph's own conjecture to fit within his preconceived narrative. An epilogue of sorts is provided in telling of certain legal outcomes that have taken place in the issue following completion of filming. —Huggo
