A mischievous young monkey is exiled from his forest after getting into trouble, only to face hardship and fear in the unfamiliar city before returning home, reformed and ready to start anew. Kittu is the story of a young monkey living in a beautiful forest. Naughty, careless, proud, and stubborn, Kittu constantly makes fun of everyone and everything. One day, he falls into bad company and ends up at a police station following a complaint against him. The magistrate orders Kittu to be exiled from the forest for a year. He leaves, unaware of the struggles that lie ahead. The city confuses and frightens him; food and sleep are hard to come by, and life becomes increasingly miserable. Eventually, Kittu returns home and begs for forgiveness. The story ends on a happy note, with a reformed Kittu beginning a new chapter of his life in the forest. —DFF
