La chambre noire
Have you ever done something that made you fear you'll get what you deserve? Bound by guilt, silenced by desire, Pascal (a photographer) is frozen in the past. Suspended from reality, he creates, in the dark room of his mind, the karmic retribution of his past. —Francois Aubry Pascal, a photographer, tries to make his way home during the biggest ice storm of the century. On his way, he picks up a young woman on the road. The rest of his journey is a maze of childhood memories, past events involving the people that are important to him (his mother, his ex-girlfriend, his actual love, his boss), until he realizes that his life has left him without notice. Guided by his lust, he follows an angel through the gallery of his life, revisiting his guilt, his unfulfilled desires and longing for completion. The Dark Room is the anti-chamber of consciousness between life and death. —Francois Aubry
