La coda del diavolo
A prison guard monitors a man convicted of torturing and killing a teen girl. A mysterious symbol called "devil's tail" appears on his back, matching one found on another young victim. Sante Moras is a former police officer who works as a prison guard in Sardinia. His life takes a dramatic turn when he is wrongfully accused of the murder of Virdis, an inmate convicted of torturing and killing a 15-year-old girl, whose body bore a symbol known as the "devil's tail." After finding Virdis dead during his shift, Sante realizes he has been framed and decides to flee to prove his innocence. During his escape, he is pursued by Commissioner Tommaso Lago and finds support in investigative journalist Fabiana Lai, who is investigating a mysterious ring of missing girls. Together, they uncover that behind the murder lies a much larger and more dangerous criminal organization involved in human trafficking. As Sante seeks to uncover the truth and clear his name, he must also confront the imminent danger that other girls could become victims of the same criminal network. After the death of his wife, ex-policeman Sante Moras (Luca Argentero) ekes out a living as a prison guard. When a suspected child murderer is killed in his cell during his night shift, suspicion falls on Sante. He quickly realizes the hopelessness of his situation and flees. Sante knows the island like the back of his hand and manages to evade the police, led by Inspector Lago (Francesco Acquaroli), time and again. He finds support in journalist Fabiana Lai (Cristiana Dell'Anna), who doubts his guilt. With Fabiana's help, Sante discovers that the murder in prison is connected to the kidnappings of young girls in Sardinia and that he himself was used as a scapegoat. In addition to the murdered girl, other daughters of impoverished immigrants are missing. Sante discovers the trail of two of the kidnapped girls and is willing to do anything to save them. Meanwhile, it becomes increasingly clear that this is a conspiracy that reaches into the highest circles. To prove his own innocence, he must find the masterminds behind the girl trafficking ring, who will stop at nothing. —ZDF
