Laugh, Everyone!
Tamon, an awkward, unpopular, unambitious 50-year-old rakugo artist, stumbles through life with his dementia-suffering comedian father, a young female stand-up, and a former lover in this passionate, bittersweet ode to humanity. Tamon is a pathetic 50-year-old rakugo storyteller. He's unpopular, lacks esteem, is devoid of ambition, and he hasn't had a lover in years. He's stopped pursuing his craft, he avoids any kind of social interaction, and he spends his days caring for his aging father and comedy mentor, Kanzo. Until one day he meets Kiko, a rookie stand-up comedian. And then he meets her mother, Yoko. Or rather, they are reunited. Portraying the hollow life of a washed-up rakugo storyteller, intertwining rakugo and stand-up comedy, and exploring the relationships between parents and children, this film is a passionate and bittersweet ode to humanity.
