The film is the story of the last years of the life of T.E. Lawrence - Lawrence of Arabia - a soldier, spy, scholar, writer and reluctant hero and author of 'Seven Pillars of Wisdom' which documents his exploits in Arabia. Retiring to his cottage in Dorset having taken possession of his new Brough Superior motorcycle he hopes to escape his past and the press that constantly pester him but he is pulled into political intrigue by his old friend Winston Churchill. Churchill knows war is on the horizon and hopes to convince Lawrence that his talents as a soldier and spy could be used elsewhere. He is also suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder from his service in WW1 and has flashbacks of his childhood and wartime past. he struggles as to whether he should help Winston Churchill with all that would mean or retire into obscurity. He has many powerful friends, but is outspoken and with his uncompromising manner has made him dangerous enemies. As they plot against him he dies in what seems a tragic motorcycle accident just a few weeks into his retirement. However, with such dangerous enemies and many reasons to remove him was his untimely death an assassination and cover up by the British Secret Service? 'Lawrence: After Arabia' is the final act in the TE Lawrence story which chronologically follows David Lean's 'Lawrence of Arabia' (1962) which starred Peter O'Toole as T.E. Lawrence and 'Lawrence: A Dangerous Man' (1996) which starred Ralph Fiennes in the starring role.
