Concepción "Conchita" Cabrera de Armida was born on December 8, 1862, in San Luis PotosÃ, Mexico, into a well-off yet humble family. From a young age, she felt a profound longing for God, which would drive her to a life of love and sacrifice for others. At 21, Conchita married Francisco Armida in 1884, and together they had nine children. She joyfully dedicated her life to her family, but her spiritual life remained undiminished. In 1894, during spiritual exercises, she clearly heard God's voice saying, "Your mission is to save souls." From that moment, her sole desire was to belong to the Lord and save humanity. After becoming a widow in 1901, Conchita raised her children with strength. Her inner life with Jesus intensified, and she began writing about her mystical experiences under the guidance of her spiritual directors. She was the inspiration and founder of five apostolic works: the Apostolate of the Cross, the Religious of the Cross, the Covenant of Love, the Fraternity of Christ the Priest, and the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit. Conchita's fecundity extended not only through her biological family and writings but also through her spiritual family. Nine religious congregations and pastoral movements were born from the spirit of this multifaceted woman who was a youth, bride, wife, mother, writer, founder, entrepreneur, and grandmother. Conchita lived through Mexico's most turbulent era with a cross ablaze with love, dedicated to the salvation of humanity. Her life is a torch destined to bring fire to the hearts of the 21st century. She died in Mexico City on March 3, 1937, with a reputation for sanctity. Her beatification process began in Rome in 1959. She was declared Venerable by Saint John Paul II in 1999 and beatified on May 4, 2019, at the Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico.
