Lost Seamen
Three sailors stranded on a Marseille cargo ship struggle to survive exile and hardship, relying on fragile solidarity as their hopes fade. On a cargo ship abandoned in the port of Marseille after being seized for debts, three sailors live in endless waiting. Khaled, a Lebanese seaman worn down by exile; Diamantis, a Greek officer haunted by a painful past; and Moly, a young African full of hope, struggle to preserve their dignity as their future closes in. Trapped between a sea they can no longer sail and a land that offers them nothing, they survive thanks to a fragile sense of solidarity. Moly still dreams of escape, Diamantis retreats into solitude, and Khaled strives to hold the group together. As the days pass, their illusions fade in the face of the port's harshness and the slow decay of the ship. Through these suspended destinies, the film explores exile, brotherhood, and the melancholy of men made invisible, stranded at the edge of the world. —fippi2000
