Ludwig on the Lookout for a Wife
Klausing travels to Bavaria with his wife and daughter Lilly. Abiturient Ludwig is asked to accompany the latter as a mountain guide. Vacation time in Gamsting: Mother Klausing has traveled from Berlin to beautiful Bavaria with her husband and daughter Lilly. She is drawn to the castles of the deceased King Ludwig II, while her husband is tempted by the local beer springs. When daughter Lilly wants to go to the mountains, they are looking for a local companion who knows his way around. Young Ludwig Thoma immediately agrees to take on this task in view of the pretty Berlin girl. His mother would prefer him to spend his free time preparing for his upcoming A-levels, but Ludwig has a mind of his own. Lilly, on the other hand, is just as taken with him as he is with her and is happy to hear about his previous pranks. The school-leaving essay soon gives Ludwig the opportunity to recall some of the most striking events of his adventurous school days. —ARD
