Two simple-minded men headed for Dubai are instead taken to a slave labor camp. Naive and simple-minded, Chandraprakash, lives in Ludhiana along with his dad, Jagannath; mom, Paro; sister, Ranno; and brother, Raju. They are unable to come up with a dowry to get Ranno married, while everyone expects him to wed Billoo, whose dad, Harbhanslal, is employed in Dubai, and wants Chandraprakash to re-locate there. Jagannath sells almost every item in his house as well as borrows money from Thekedhar to accumulate Rs.10,000/- to pay for the passport and visa, and asks him to go see Roshanlal in Delhi. Chandraprakash leaves but is not heard for a long time. Then a letter from Harbanslal devastates the family by informing them that he never made it to Dubai.
