Exploring the story of iconic Kucheh Bazaari singer, Javad Yasari. Javad Yasari, known as the voice of Kucheh and Bazaar, belongs to a group of artists who found themselves entangled in the sweeping tides of Iran's contemporary history. During the Pahlavi era, progressive music took center stage, leaving Kucheh Bazaari music in the background. As the Islamic revolution began, city cabarets were razed to the ground, and Javad faced a ban on singing. Yet, his music flourished underground through secret cassettes and became a hidden cultural treasure for the masses. Though faced with numerous challenges, Javad performed on the global stages, and while he couldn't perform in Iran, his music united people through its inspiring message. Today, he runs a modest secondhand appliance shop in Shahpour, Tehran, his birthplace. The documentary "JAVAD: From Shahpour with Love" captures his remarkable life story as he transitioned from a National Team wrestler to a beloved singer performing in Tehran's vibrant Lalehzar alleys during the revolutionary period of the late 70's.
