``Nenjirukkum Varai`` is the story of Ganesh, a simple rickshaw driver, working hard to make ends meet and earn the daily bread for his family, and Bhuvana, the daughter of an effluent father, who falls in love with Ganesh. Ganesh denies to accept her love because he says that a rich girl like her would never be able to live a life of poverty and simplicity with him. However, she proves him wrong, and marries him. All`s well until an accident takes Bhuvana into mortal danger and the doctors announce that a heart transplant is the only way to save her. Ganesh has no money to arrange for another heart, nor can he bear the thought of letting Bhuvana die, hence, he asks the doctors to operate on him and perform the transplant, dying to let his love live.
