This film follows a Holocaust survivor named Joop, who became a patient for LSD treatment under Dr. Jan Bastiaans. Patient Joop was arrested by the Germans in September 1941 and subsequently experienced a long journey through hell, passing through various camps before being liberated by the Russians. When he finally returned to his wife, he was a completely different man. Joop experienced night terrors and was unable to deal with normal human contact. University of Leiden psychiatry professor Jan Bastiaans made a speciality of treating concentration camp syndrome. He was convinced that he could treat people suffering from this condition by getting them to relive their horrific camp experiences under the influence of LSD. —Eye
