Before meeting the group, Bear stops at a spiritualist crystal shop where an employee, Viola, directs him to a supernatural novelty item known as the One Wish Willow. The packaging claims the item will grant a single wish to whoever snaps it in two, and Bear purchases it. Following the trivia night, Nikki questions Bear regarding his romantic attraction to her, which he denies. Upon returning home, Bear snaps the One Wish Willow and makes an explicit wish aloud to compel Nikki to love him above anyone else. Immediately following the wish, a supernaturally altered Nikki appears at his doorstep, exhibiting erratic behavior and requesting to stay the night. Despite her visible disorientation and a sudden screaming panic in bed, Bear accepts her presence and proceeds to enter a relationship with her, ignoring her initial claims that her behavioral shift was due to MDMA usage. As the two begin dating, they go on a critical dinner date where Bear confirms the absolute erasure of Nikki's true consciousness. He recognizes that she is fundamentally incapacitated and unable to provide valid consent, yet he returns to his residence to intimately violate her body anyway. As the supernatural compulsion deepens, Bear's friend Ian informs him that Nikki's stated reasons for the sudden relationship are unverified. Recognizing the unstable nature of her mind control, Bear contacts the customer support line on the artifact's packaging to demand a reversal. A representative informs him that the wish cannot be reversed and remains active until Bear's death. During a gathering at Ian's residence, Nikki's behavior escalates to severe physical self-harm when she shatters a bottle into her own face. Bear transports her home to recover rather than securing medical intervention. Later, Nikki experiences a brief, lucid moment where her true consciousness resurfaces; she informs Bear that her obsessive state is temporarily dormant and begs him to end her life to free her. Bear explicitly refuses her plea, expressing personal offense that she would choose death over a forced relationship with him. Following a sequence where a supernaturally possessed Nikki murders Sarah in a park, Bear returns to the crystal shop to purchase the remaining One Wish Willows but finds he cannot snap them to produce a counter-wish. He brings the artifact to Ian to force an intervention. Disbelieving, Ian sarcastically wishes for a billion dollars, causing cash to fall through the roof and verifying the artifact's power. Bear returns home to find Sarah's naked mutilated remains. Nikki, completely controlled by the curse, murders Ian immediately upon his arrival. Bear retreats to the bathroom and consumes a high quantity of oxycodone pills to escape the situation. He undergoes a brief change of mind and attempts to purge the medication. Simultaneously, Nikki discovers the final remaining One Wish Willow outside the door and snaps it, wishing for Bear to match her level of devotion. The supernatural spell takes immediate effect on Bear's mind, causing him to willingly cease his attempts to purge the pills. Under the absolute control of the mutual spell, Bear exits the bathroom and engages in a physical relationship with Nikki before the lethal overdose terminates his life. With Bear deceased, the supernatural wish dissolves instantly, restoring Nikki to her true consciousness. She wakes up to find herself isolated in absolute trauma, surrounded by the bodies of her friends, left to face the severe legal peril of the homicides alone.
