Documentary about the first years of Brazilian cinema, until the movement called Cinema Novo, in the 1960s, with photographs and scenes of rare films. "Panorama do Cinema Brasileiro" is a documentary showing the development of the Brazilian cinema from the early years until the 60's. Jurandyr Passos Noronha made a research, and show footages of some of the best Brazilian movies. From the silent period, it is presented the evolution of the cameras and equipment, and footages of "Exemplo Regenerador" (1919), "Limite" (1931), "Ganga Bruta" (1933), and "Macaco Feio...Macaco Bonito" (!929) among others. From the spoken period, it is presented an interview with Ademar Gonzaga, the raise and fall of the great Brazilian studios (Cinédia, Vera Cruz and Atlântida), and footages of "O Cangaceiro" (1953); "Sinhá Moça" (1953); "O Homem do Sputinik" (1959); "Os Cafajestes" (1962), with the impressive scene of Norma Bengell in the first frontal nude scene in the Brazilian cinema; "Noite Vazia"(1964), "Amei um Bicheiro" (1952), and "Assalto ao Trem Pagador" (1962) among others.
