ARIS, 33 is a successful occupational therapist in a private London hospital. His personal life, however, is marred by an increasingly loveless long distance relationship with a man almost twice his age SAIT, 50. Upon discovering Sait has been concealing his real identity for their entire relationship, Aris breaks off contact with him, spiralling into a mire of self-doubt and confliction. Meanwhile he begins attending an acting school as a method of positively channelling his emotions. On the other side of town, ANNA, 37, a thriving marketing manager of a high end fashion brand is 14 weeks pregnant with her second child with her stockbroker husband RICHARD, 42. ANNA's perfect world, however, is rocked when she suffers a miscarriage and soon after learns of Richard having an affair. Overwhelmed, Anna returns to work, only to suffer further tragedy when she is stricken with a rare autoimmune disease, rendering her unable to move or speak. Anna is transferred to Aris' private hospital where he becomes the occupational therapist charged with her recovery. Under Aris' gentle guidance Anna begins to make progressive steps towards mobility. Richard returns to London and finds himself ostracised from Anna and her recovery by her next of kin and best friend SANDRA, 33. Through a chance meeting in a cafe, Richard and Aris become acquainted over a mutual attraction, unaware of their associated link. Anna begins to show signs of improvement and is able to communicate verbally with Aris, and begins to develop an emotionally dependent relationship with him. Richard, frustrated with his failing efforts to see Anna commences a relationship with Aris unbeknownst to Anna. Through an attempt to sneak into the hospital and see Anna, Richard bumps into Aris, but he evades suspicion of his reasons for being there by claiming to have been visiting a friend, however the two's interaction is seen by Sandra. As Aris' attraction to Richard deepens he asks him to join him to visit his family in Greece, Richard agrees, meanwhile seeking Sandra's help in getting to Anna to finally see him. Anna's condition advances, as do her feelings for Aris. Believing her to be fit to return home, Sandra and Aris organise Anna's release. During an access visit to Anna's home, Aris discovers to his shock Richard's real identity by a framed picture in the living room. Motivated and ready to move on, Anna arranges an out of hospital dinner with Aris where she confesses her affection for him - only for Aris to confess he is gay, to her shock. Meanwhile Aris, buoyed by his acting classes, becomes increasingly concerned when he is unable to get in contact with Richard. After visiting his house only to find out he has moved and is untraceable. Anna, trying to recover from having her hopes dashed once again, allows Richard to visit their daughter. Devastated by Richard's sudden disappearance, Aris attempts to rebuild his life through acting. 6 months later, Aris spots Richard at the airport and decides to confront him seeking an explanation for his betrayal. To his surprise Anna and May appear in the background joining them. Aris is now faced with the incomprehensible truth and an immediate choice, to tell Anna or to walk away.
