Premonition

At academic conferences, unexpected events that are not part of the program occur, and the journey of a thesis takes a sinister turn, connecting with other memory images. A travelogue essay that transforms into an experimental documentary. Academic events often unfold in ways not listed in the programs, and the writing and defense of a thesis can take an unexpected, sometimes sinister, turn that connects with another memory. This work is an indie filmed essay, part experimental and part travel diary, covering four philosophy conferences among other topics, like gender and memory. Throughout the journey, different landscapes or moments emerge according to the conferences: Bodies (Cádiz), Deluuuz (Manipal), Listening (Brussels and other Belgian cities), Women and Others...(Buenos Aires). Between these landscapes, an interstice in Madrid, arises the present in Mendoza. The images and sounds are not the conventional or institutional ones usually associated with these events. They intersect with different temporality, exploring the audiovisual materials in search of a form and a poetic reflection (without avoiding the absurd) on academia, foreignness, queerness, and orphanhood.
