Thabo's long- time girlfriend Zonke, gives him an ultimatum of either marrying her or letting her go. This sets Thabo on a journey of discovering whether or not he is ready to take the next step. Risk Analyst, Thabo Mafokoane, is in a 7-year relationship with his girlfriend Zonke. Its wedding season and after attending a friend's wedding where Zonke catches the bouquet, an argument ensues between them as she had naturally assumed they would be getting married soon. A sentiment not shared by her boyfriend. She gives him an ultimatum of either choosing to marry her or leave her alone. Thabo then embarks on a journey of trying to figure out how he can keep his relationship's status quo and not lose Zonke. It is only after his married friend Billy advises him to follow a 4-step program to see whether or not he could be "marriage fit". It is on this journey of following Billy's advice that things begin to get complicated for Thabo. His Mom gets ecstatic from the idea of finally getting married. His two uncles who are polar opposite drag his mind this way and that way from making a decision. His other friend Sbu also tries to pull him away from making a decision. Its only after a series of events that Zonke breaks up with him. It is only after this break up that Thabo realizes how much he misses Zonke and embarks on a journey of pursuing her and realizing what being ready actually means.
