Receptions
A comic tragedy about an obscure but uncompromising journalist, a specialist in ancient Greek sayings, who tries to keep his apartment and lead a decent life, without giving up on his principles, without losing his integrity. "Receptions" light-heartedly narrates a bizarre world, where the need for food has become more important than truth, tolerance or mutual respect. Ex -teachers, -employees, -economists, sneak into receptions to eat for free. They are not ashamed when they are kicked out, they are not offended when they are insulted, they ask no one's respect and they respect no one. Within this collapsing world wanders Dimos Perpataris: Financially ruined but always well-dressed, a modern Charlie Chaplin with a touching naivety, who tries on the one hand to save what he can of his integrity and on the other hand not to starve. "Receptions" follow his tragic journey in a comical way, inspired by the playful irony of the films of Wes Anderson or Paolo Sorentino, but mainly by the old Italian comedies, where the crazy funny and the deeply tragic alternate with the same naturalness as they alternate in life.
