Kara Zor-El (Helen Slater) an inhabitant of Kryptonian community called Argo City comes to Earth on the search for powerful item known as the Omegahedron, which powers their city, and had accidentally fallen on Earth. On Earth, a powerful witch Selena (Faye Dunaway) gets hold of the item realising it can give her immense power. Meanwhile in her quest of the Omegahedron, Kara takes the name of Linda Lee and gets herself enrolled in an all girls school. Supergirl and Selena battle and Selena sends her into phantom zone where she loses all her power. However, she escapes with the help of Zaltar, who sacrifices his life for her. The rest is how she rescues the Omegahedron from Selena and brings back light to the darkened Argo City.
