A Mute Dalit rickshaw puller named Jugal sacrifices everything to educate his son ''Tarengan'' but after becoming educate, Tarengan starts to hate his father and commit suicide. A middle-aged mute ''Dalit'' rickshaw puller named Jugal brings rich kids to school but when he desires to educate his son Tarengan (8). no one school gives him admission due to his caste then father changes his surname and admits Tarengan to the school but the truth is revealed soon. After the incident, both father and son face several problems but never give up and one day Tarengan sets a milestone becoming a topper in the class's tenth paper but things change when Tarengan goes to the city for higher study and loses his identity by throwing it into the capitalist structure of education. He starts to live like other rich boys. Whose price Jugal has to pay by turning a rickshaw puller into a dancing ''Launda'' at the wedding. One day, Father is caught red-handed while dancing in a marriage by Tarengan. Tarengan can not bear this embarrassment and commits suicide in front of his father's eyes leaving all the sacrifices of Jugal and all his dreams remain naught.
