Adam, a new policeman in town, discovers through surveillance cameras that his police colleagues are involved in covering up the rape of a young girl. He also discovers that the only witness to the rape, homeless Robert, is the ex-husband of Adam's current partner, Dorota, and the father of her daughter, whom Adam is currently raising. The real perpetrator of the rape turns out to be an American soldier from a nearby military base. Adam must decide whether to hand Robert over to his police colleagues to save his police career and get rid of a rival to family happiness, or to save his clear conscience and be a true guardian of the law.
