The Alpines
As Kaspar and his friend Seppel are working on their moon rocket, they hear their grandmother's cries for help: the robber Hotzenplotz has stolen their favorite coffee grinder. Kasper and Seppel want to catch the thief themselves, because they don't trust the police constable Dimpfelmoser to do it. So they hatch a plan and lay in wait. But Hotzenplotz is more cunning than they thought. He overpowers them and they end up in the robbers' den. The robber is soon annoyed by the cheeky Kasper and the obviously stupid Sepp. So he leaves Seppel in the hands of the famous magician Petrosilius Zwackelmann, who needs a servant who is as stupid as possible and who can't spy on the secrets of magic. He doesn't notice that the boys have swapped hats. So the disguised Kasper has to put up with Zwackelmann's nasty whims. He tries in vain to escape from the castle. Seppel doesn't fare much better in the robbers' den. And the policeman Dimpfelmoser and the clairvoyant Schlotterbeck with her dachshund Wasti, who has mutated into a crocodile, cause more confusion than they manage to track down the robber. Meanwhile, Kaspar finds the enchanted fairy Amaryllis in the castle cellar in the form of a toad, who shows him the way to the fairy herb, which can be used to transform her back and free Kasper from the castle. After some turbulent entanglements, Kaspar and Seppel manage to free everyone, hunt down the magician and turn the robber into a bullfinch. As thanks, the fairy gives them a ring with three wishes. Kasper's first wish is for a new pointed cap. And because Dimpfelmoser doesn't believe them that the little bullfinch in the cage is the dangerous robber, they conjure up the robber Hotzenplotz with the second wish. And finally, they decide to use the third wish to turn Wasti back into a dachshund. After all, they are otherwise perfectly happy.
