In the small village of Pentagii in early-nineteenth-century Fokida, Dimitris, a tall and handsome chief shepherd, is getting ready to marry the proud and beautiful daughter of Maria Pentagiotissa (1929). In bliss, nothing can stand in the way of the young couple's happiness, not even the bride's stern father.
