The Nest
After matching on Bumble and going on 2 very fun dates, Chris is smitten with Sarah. He tells his friends, Oliver and Adam, of his strong feelings during their weekly racquetball game. Oliver, offers his support, while Adam is more skeptical. He warns Chris that Sarah just might be too good to be true. On the way home, Chris and Oliver enjoy some frozen yogurt despite the cold weather where they run into an exceedingly handsome homeless man with whom Oliver has a connection with. Oliver hands him a few dollars and then they engage in some intense, primal eye contact. Chris breaks the tension and then they head home. When Sarah abruptly stops texting him back, Chris seeks advice from his co-worker, Emily. She believes that Sarah is no longer interested and simply pretending to be too busy to respond. Dejected, Chris arrives at a Oliver's place for a "boy's brunch" and proceeds to despair over the situation. Adam creeps on Sarah's Facebook profile to gain more insight, only to discover that she died shortly after the second date. Chris grapples with his grief, breaking a variety of social cues in the process. Most notably at Oliver's housewarming party, where he arrives in all black garb ready to mourn his loss. When Oliver angrily confronts Chris over his irrational behavior, Adam unexpectedly comes to his aide. Adam encourages Chris to seek closure by tracking down one of Sarah's relatives via social media. Chris spends an awkward afternoon with Sarah's mom. He eventually works up the courage to ask if Sarah ever mentioned him to her. Sarah's mom then shows him an affectionate text message (complete with emojis) about Chris that Sarah sent her on the night that she died. Chris concludes that their connection was real after all and Sarah had never intended to ghost him.
