Meg Peters (Krista Allen) just cannot seem to find Mr. Right. She has had 50 bad dates in the past 12 months, and she often stood up on date nights. One day she bleaches her hair blonde, after her boyfriend admits to sleeping with her best friend. Meg gets a blonde starter kit which has breast implants as well. She gets a wardrobe makeover as well and goes to blonde school, coached by Blonde School Director (Charlene Tilton). The blonde school teaches girls how to do the right head bob, how to laugh at men's jokes, the curtain always needs to match the rug and the right posture to attract attention with breasts. All of a sudden, men start noticing Meg. Men including nerds (Colin Mochrie) (who come dressed as Star Trek characters), rich sickos (who want to buy her a condo in the Bahamas) and Hollywood types (who want to go straight to sex) begin to swarm around, but none she feels is Mr. Right until she meets a crooner at a local club Van Martin (Michael Bublé). Van is the owner of the club and also sings there. At first, Meg is not interested in Van as she says that she does not date singers. Ramona (Mindy Sterling) is Meg's boss at work, where she works as an advertising copywriter. Ramona gives Meg to handle a Japanese account, who is coming in for a presentation in 2 months' time. Van sends her a singing (and stripping) telegram at work. Meg is embarrassed (even though Ramona was excited) and calls Van and yells at him. But Van uses the opportunity to ask Meg out for lunch. Van is from Italy (and tells her the name of his village in Italy) and a smooth talker. He reveals that his parents have already passed away. He charms Meg. Meg drinks wine and reveals that she is jealous of Barbie as she had the perfect guy already made for her. Meg says that her dream is to have a house with a white picket fence, just like Barbie. Van asks her out to dinner next. He picks her from her apartment, where he sees a wall full of pictures of guys that she has dated till date. Her goal is to keep it under 100 pictures before she finds the right guy for herself, and she is up to 50 now. Van takes Meg in his private plane, and they go to his favorite sea food place by the coast. Meg spends a lot of time with Van but says that she only likes him as a friend. Van is OK as he gets to spend the time with Meg which he enjoys. The plot thickens when she also meets an old high-school friend, now a wealthy hunk Brad Wilson (Brody Hutzler). Van and Meg were at the beach when Meg sees Brad playing beach volleyball. He is ripped and Meg tells Van that Brad is "The One". Van continues to serenade Meg, and she is confused as she considers Van as her friend. Van plans a whole special evening for Meg at his club. Van had reserved the entire club for Meg for a private night together with dinner and dancing. But she gently rejects his advances and goes for a date with Brad instead. Van is heartbroken. Van ends up making out with Meg's girlfriend Liv Watson (Maeve Quinlan). Liv had come by to Van's restaurant to see Meg and was astonished to see that he had closed the entire place for a night to be alone with Meg, but she ditched him for Brad. Liv ends up getting drunk with Van and they end up kissing playing "truth or dare". They end up in Van's pool. Liv wants to have sex but Van backs off. Meanwhile Meg has a terrible time with Brad. He is not interested in her and instead takes her on a bizarre trip where they try to prank unsuspecting couples in their vehicles, in a secluded part of town. Brad invites Meg for a weekend getaway. The next day Liv tells Meg that Van loves her. But Meg gets mad when she finds that Liv stayed for dinner with Van and is livid to suspect that they might had sex. Meg needs a little time to sort things out with Van and delays her trip with Brad for the weekend. Brad thinks she is breaking up with him, but she assures him she is not. Meg goes over to Van's restaurant and finds Liv having dinner with him. She yells at them for betraying her. Liv says that Meg never loved Van, so he is fair game. While Brad says that Meg broke "it" with him, and Meg storms off saying "there is no "it"". Meg reaches the hotel where Brad was staying a bit late, only to find that he hooked up with another random girl and was having sex with her. Meanwhile Van ends up with Liv. Meg has an accident on the way back. Van and Liv get to the ER. Meg survives and the next day Meg apologizes to Van for being a jerk. Van tells Meg that he is going to ask Liv to marry him. Van proposes to Liv at his restaurant, while Meg attends a self-help group and figures that most of the women there are blondes. They had been waiting for Mr. right for a very long time. Van and Liv are getting married, but Meg is forced to work on a Japanese account by Ramona (due to which she can't attend the wedding, which she planned to break up). Meg blows up the presentation to her clients as she is obsessed with the wedding. But the Japanese clients love her work and give Ramona the account. Ramona begs Meg to come with her to Japan. 3 months later, Meg returns to US and is a brunette again. She finds that Liv is married, but to another guy. Van couldn't marry her. Meg pursues Van to his hometown in Italy and they end up together, get married and have kids.
