Supported by sound engineer Steve Albini Uzeda have made itself as a landmark of alternative music internationally while never leaving their hometown in Sicily or giving up their ideals. A history of independence spanning across over 30 years. in 1991 sicilian noise band Uzeda send a demo tape to legendary US sound engineer Steve Albini, who decides to fly to Catania to work with them: within months, the act are signed by Touch and Go, invited to record two BBC Peel Sessions and asked to play all over the world. A collaboration and friendship that has changed the story and lives of four individuals determined to make music their own way, unaffected by the industry's pressures, yet in spite of this have achieved an international notoriety completely unusual for a sicilian outfit. —Pietro Fuccio
