A barber owes a lot of money to his landlady, who shows great patience and understanding, hoping that one day he will convince him to marry her. In high hopes of making a quick buck, Padelis, a happy-go-lucky barber, spends all his money betting on horse races. However, instead of striking gold, Padelis is already ten months behind in the rent, pushing his luck knowing that his love-smitten landlady, Fofo, is willing to forgive his shenanigans on one condition: ask for her hand in marriage. Likewise, Padelis' friend, Pipis, the flirtatious owner of the neighbourhood's haberdashery, is always short on cash, as he, too, is passionate about football, dreaming of winning the pools. In their group, Thimios, the outspoken owner of the local dairy shop, is the voice of reason; however, things will take an unexpected turn when he decides to follow Padelis and Pipis' advice and loses big in horse racing. Now, their long-term sweethearts are the end of their tether. Will the three friends see the error of their ways in time, and score a goal in love? —Nick Riganas
