We're All Sinner
A down on his luck Iranian father will do anything to find the money for his daughters hospital treatment - even sell himself. Farhad and his family live in difficult and chaotic economic and social conditions. He, his wife Sara, and their six-year-old daughter Nahal make a living by selling foreign DVDs in pizza boxes on a motorbike. Among his customers, who come from all walks of life, is a young woman named Diba, who helps him learn English by subtitling movies. Diba, who has turned her house into an underground casino, is interested in Farhad and asks him to work for her, but Farhad refuses. Meanwhile, Nahal is on the verge of losing her sight, hearing, and speech due to a malignant tumor in her head. Farhad, who needs to raise 100 million Tomans within three days for her surgery, is forced to seek refuge with Diba. Diba offers him to marry her in exchange for covering the cost of his daughter's treatment so that he can take responsibility for protecting Diba and the casino from the threat of her ex-husband, who, according to her, is a dangerous man and is planning to kill her. Nahal's surgery, which was initially well-done, leads to cancer and chemotherapy is prescribed. Diba takes advantage of this situation to further exploit Farhad, and by giving him a high-end car as a birthday present, she arouses the suspicions of Farhad's wife, who had previously become suspicious of how the surgery was paid for. Finally, Farhad is forced to tell Sara about the matter, and Sara asks him to leave her and her daughter. Diba also uses this situation to stage a phone scene, claiming that her ex-husband has returned to Iran and intends to kill them, and asks Farhad to travel together to Kish Island for a few days to get away from this dangerous situation. —@Filmnegah
