World Bhangra League
Two struggling brothers in Marrakech scheme to win the favor of a wealthy woman to fund their dream of opening a restaurant, while navigating financial troubles and past mistakes. In Marrakech, Ismail (Anas El Hamdouchi) and Yassine (Mansour Mellali), two brothers, struggle to make ends meet in grueling jobs. Yassine works as a cook at a snack bar, where he endures constant mistreatment from his boss (Zakaria Atifi). Ismail, a singer at a local pub, faces similar abuse from his employer (Abdellatif Chaouqi). Despite their hardships, the brothers share a dream of opening their own restaurant, but they lack the funds to make it a reality. As their younger sister Salma's birthday approaches, Ismail borrows a keyboard from his boss, promising to return it after the celebration. However, their mother's intoxicated husband (Rafik Boubker) accidentally smashes the keyboard into pieces, leaving the brothers with a debt of 50,000 Durhams to replace it. Desperate and out of options, they devise a bold plan: to win over Sara (Najwa Moufti), a wealthy young woman who could help solve their financial problems. But there's a catch-Sara is the sister of Rayan (Othmane Berhout), a man Ismail and Yassine previously had a violent altercation with at a pub in Marrakech. What follows is a heartfelt and comedic journey as the brothers navigate love, loyalty, and the pursuit of their dreams, all while confronting their past mistakes and daring to hope for a better future. —N24
