Sweetiee Desai is a happy go lucky Gujarati girl of around 22 years, born to a wealthy business man of Vadodara. Her father is a jolly good person with only one ambition - to get his daughter married to an NRI from England. The reason being he was deported from the UK many years back and hence wants to see his daughter settled in the UK. He fixes up her marriage with a family friend's son, only to find out that he has eloped with a white girl! Disheartened, he now wants to find a match for her anyhow and hence takes the help of marriage portals. The daughter is in love with a local boy who is in his final year of Mass Com but not an NRI. She gives up all hope on the guy and is ready to marry whichever boy the father chooses for her. But will Sweetiee marry the boy of her father's choice? Or will her true love come back and win her back? Will the father be ok with the original groom? And most importantly, what about his condition of an NRI son-in-law?

The story of the film deals with the issue of molestation and rapes and how the victims are ridiculed. A girl who is raped by a national political leader seeks justice but she is called names and is mocked. However, she does not give up her fight against injustice.

This movie relates the events of the gruesome 26/11 terror attacks of Mumbai. It pays tribute to the martyrs who lost their lives in this human war of terrorism. It depicts the mass manufacture of suicide bombs which are exported to countries all over the world. One terrorist in particular (Assab) is tracked as he makes his way across the sea to carry out one such operation, is arrested and then meets his final fate at the hands of the law.

A blind man Pyare and his deaf friend Mohan fall in love with twin sisters Preeti and Priya. But their relationships spiral into chaos when the sisters get falsely implicated in a murder case and the men have to find a way to save them. India's underworld is ruled by Don Tony Fernandez and his brother Tiny. Tony decides that he has had enough, goes to confess in a Church, kills one of his men, and then gets himself killed via a car bomb. What the Indian authorities do not know is that Tony is alive and well, living in style in Bangkok, Thailand, along with Tiny. Then on a flight to Bangkok, a man named Dholakia, fearing that the plane is going crash, confesses to a priest that he is Tony, which is overheard by two sisters, Preeti and Piya Malhotra, who are headed to Bangkok to do a song and dance show. Tony kills the priest, and the police arrest the Malhotra sisters, and if found guilty, both will hang. But Tony is not taking any chances, he asks Tiny to ensure that the two sisters are killed. But hilarious chaos reigns when two former Bollywood stunt artistes, Pyare, and Mohan, intervene to save the Malhotra sisters. The only problem is that Pyare is blind, and Mohan is deaf. During this get together Abhayendra Singh (Fardeen Khan) falls in love with Mangala Solanki (Richa Pallod). When Ajay Sharma, a fresh college graduate, is offered to move abroad for better work opportunities, he tries to find his birth certificate but is unable to locate it. Finding tattered pieces of his birth certificate, Ajay joins the pieces and figures that his real name is, in fact, Raj Malhotra and not Raj Sharma. Upon questioning his mother, he learns that his father, Ravi Malhotra, is alive and is serving a sentence in prison for a crime he did not commit. His college best friend Raj joins hands with Ajay, and the two set out to avenge the wrongdoings imposed on Ajay's father.

A rich girl appoints a simpleton, as her bodyguard. She soon falls in love with him, which creates havoc in his life. The story begins starts with the birth of a baby girl, Raja Nandini, in the world of feudal landlords - Zamindars - whose word is law for the villagers who work on their land. Nandini's three brothers throw a feast in honor of the girl child. The young son of the local singer (who had died) is brought in to sing for the event. The three brothers raise Nandini like their own child as their parents had died. At the age of 5, an astrologer predicts that Nandini will bring much happiness to the family, but her marriage will based on her choice and not the choice of her brothers. This angers the brothers and to prevent this from happening, she is raised within the confines of the house. She is home schooled and when she does go out, all the men are warned to hide from Nandini and that seeing Nandini will be met with dire consequences. Raja Nandini (Karisma Kapoor) reaches puberty. The few males allowed around her are the service staff and her bodyguards. Meanwhile, the boy who sang, Rama (Venkatesh) grows up to be a naive and gullible simpleton with a heart of gold. He is raised by his widowed mother Savitri (Raakhee Gulzar). He doesn't go to school and spends his time singing and entertaining the people of the village. One day the bodyguards get into a fight with Rama who beats them up. Impressed with Rama's naivety and fighting skills, the brothers hire Rama to be Nandini's bodyguard and butler. Nandini meanwhile starts to resent her lack of freedom. She engages Rama to show her the village without her brothers knowledge. Rama complies with her wishes and shows her the village which results in Nandini getting sick. Rama is blamed for Nandini getting sick and gets beaten up by the brothers. Nandini who has just started to like Rama feels guilty for being the reason for him getting trashed. This incident brings them closer together emotionally. Nandini realizes she is now in love with Rama. One day, a factory worker is punished for leering at Nandini. He plots to kill Nandini at the inauguration of the new factory owned by her brothers. Rama overhears the plot, and in a desperate attempt to save Nandini lunges on her and inadvertently feels her up in public. Nandini doest mind and defends Rama by arguing that Rama wouldn't do something like that in public. But her brothers are enraged.They beat him to the point that they almost kill him. Nandini stops them and gives him a chance to explain. When Rama explains the situation they hang their heads in shame. Rama quits his job on the spot, despite Nandini's silent apology. That night Nandini decides to meet Rama and apologize and perhaps convince him to come back to the job. Rama refuses to comeback as he doesn't want to put up with the violent nature of her brothers. She thinks if Rama marries her, they won't be able to manhandle Rama. She convinces Rama to tie a wedding chain (Mangalsutra) around her neck which will protect him from her brothers. Rama without realizing the sanctity of the act does as told and doesn't realize he is now married to her. Rama comes back to work and is given a higher level of respect by the brothers for saving Nandinis life. Nandini too starts emulating her sisters-in-law in taking care of her husband. This makes Rama nervous but he still remains clueless, her change in behavior is noticed by her sister-in-law who urge the brothers to get Nandini married off before the situation gets any worse. Nandini realizing that they are trying to get her married off tries to make Rama understand that they are already married. Rama refuses to understand and runs away to his mother who upon realizing what has happened pulls him out of denial. She sends him away in an attempt to protect him. The brothers come to know whats happened and try to torture the mother to get her to reveal where her son is hiding. She is saved in time by her son who almost kills the brothers. The wives of the brothers stop him from killing them.

Beta is the story of Raju (Anil Kapoor), the only child of a widowed multi-millionaire Prem Chaudhary (Akash Khuranna). Raju's father can provide him anything he wants but Raju's only desire is to get mother's love. Raju had lost his mother at birth and feels deeply deprived of a mother's love. On Raju's 5th birthday party, to please him, his father gets married to Laxmi (Aruna Irani), thinking that she will take care of Raju more than his real mother would. However, Lakshmi Devi turns out to be greedy, shrewd and cunning. She married Raju's father only for his vast fortune, money and property. Together with her brother Totaram (Anupam Kher) and his wife Mynavati (Bharati Achrekar), they conspire on how to transfer all property to Lakshmi Devi's name. However, Lakshmi Devi and Totaram are enraged when they find out that Prem's first wife had prepared a will before her death transferring all property to Raju, and that Prem is only a trustee to all the wealth. In the will, it has been written that Raju will have full control of his property only after marriage and unless his wife jointly consents with him, he will not be able to transfer his wealth and property to another name. Raju becomes completely devoted to his stepmother, doing whatever she wishes. He showers Lakshmi Devi with love and respect, ever-ready to obey her every word. Raju refuses education for his mother as she explains that despite education, man can only achieve a job for others, but he should work for his own self. When his father finds out that Raju stopped going to school at Lakshmi Devi's instructions, he calls out to her to question her. Lakshmi Devi and Totaram, hearing Prem, pours oil on the steps causing him to fall down the flight of stairs and hurting his head severely. Using this opportunity, they prove that Prem has become mentally unstable, and they lock him up in a corner room of the house. Raju being naive and uneducated, believes every word of his step-mother and her brother. Over the years, Lakshmi Devi increasingly isolates his aging father from the family and mainly Raju. Raju, meanwhile, meets Saraswati (Madhuri Dixit) and the two fall in love after Raju sees her being abducted, slapped and assaulted at a fair. After Raju saves her from being assaulted, the two fall in love and Raju marries Saraswati after everyone in the village believes that she is no longer chaste. In the meantime, Lakshmi Devi fixes an alliance for Raju with an equally uneducated girl from their own village, so that she too can be manipulated and can finally succeed in transferring the property in Lakshmi Devi and her son, Ramesh (Adi Irani), Raju's step brother's name. Lakshmi Devi is shocked to learn about Raju and Saraswati's marriage as Lakshmi Devi knows that Saraswati was not only educated but also a very intelligent girl. As usual, Lakshmi Devi puts on an act of a doting mother in front of Saraswati. Saraswati discovers that Laxmi's motherly love for Raju is fake and all what Laxmi is interested in, is capturing Raju's wealth. She is horrified to find Raju's father being treated as a mentally ill patient. Only after speaking to him does, she realizes that the reason for Raju's naive nature and uneducated status is because his stepmother manipulated him into being uneducated so that she can take advantage of him. Laxmi already has another son who is being educated but also seeks Raju's wealth which his mother Laxmi intends for him to inherit. And thus begins a battle within the household between daughter-in-law and mother-in-law which involves Saraswati trying to outdo Laxmi. Initially, Saraswati allows Raju's father to come out of his prison and insists that there is nothing wrong with him. She voices her concerns to Raju about his mother, resulting in Saraswati being slapped repeatedly around the courtyard of the house in front of all the family members. Saraswati is ready to leave the house at this point but wisely decides to apologize to her mother-in-law, only to take an oath to protect her husband and her house from Laxmi's immoral intentions. This humiliation does not deter Saraswati who cleverly starts exposing Laxmi's every step in a dignified manner for the sake of her husband. She publicly exposes the fact that Raju's younger step-brother has not received a degree in Medicine, rather that he has bought a fake one. In one incident, Saraswati, along with Prem and their faithful servants Pandu (Lakshmi Devikant Berde) and Champa (Priya Arun), planned for Lakshmi Devi to slip and fall, forcing her to be bedridden. Promptly, the responsibility of the entire household is handed over to Saraswati. Upon discovering that Saraswati is pregnant, Laxmi finally decides that enough is enough and tries to poison Saraswati by mixing poison with saffron which she knows that Saraswati will mix with her milk before she drinks it. Champa, who witnessed Lakshmi Devi mixing the poison, runs to Saraswati's rescue, narrating everything that happened and warns her against drinking the poisoned milk. Saraswati approaches Raju and tells him the truth once again. Raju refuses to believe Saraswati, even when she takes an oath upon her unborn child's life and decides to prove Saraswati wrong by offering to drink the poisoned milk himself. Only when Raju begins to cough up blood, does he realize that Saraswati was telling the truth after all. He confronts his mother in his usual innocent manner and asks her why she had forsaken him and tells her that had she simply asked him for his wealth, he would have happily agreed to give her all he had. He tells Laxmi that his last dying wish will be that he would request his mother to at least once with a clean her to call him 'her son', so that he may now die in peace. His words touch Laxmi deeply and she realizes the cruelty that she has shown her son who has only ever loved her. There is a brief altercation between Laxmi and her real son who still wishes to procure Raju's wealth. Raju, in his deteriorating state still manages to save his mother from his stepbrother. Raju recovers following treatment and agreeing to give up his worldly possessions to his mother and leaving home with his wife and father. However, at the last moment, Laxmi begs him not to leave, claiming to have learned the error of her ways; she tears up all the property papers and tells him that she does not want his wealth, all she wants is 'her son' and nothing more.

Mr. Singh lives a wealthy lifestyle in a mansion named 'Ashiana' on 10th Road, Juhu, Bombay, with his only relative, a niece by the name of Nisha, who is unmarried and runs the family's business that faces strong opposition from Khanna Group of Industries. Singh would like to see her get married but she hates wealthy men, as she believes wealthy persons don't care about their family and only think of money. The separation of her parents when she was a child is behind this reason. So her uncle finds a poor man, Ajay Srivastav, but subsequently finds out that Ajay is already married and also has three daughters; then he decides to get Nisha married to a TV repairman, Yeshwant Bhosle, who ends up being a multi-millionaire after his invention is marketed, although he used to call him by willingly damaging his own television set. Then he wants her to get married to Viju Guide, a Hyderabad-based Tourist Guide, who finds buried treasure and also ends up a multi-millionaire, although he trapped them to go out together and even made her to offer him a job at her own travel agency in Mumbai (Bombay). Then he wants her to get married to a motor mechanic, Prakash, who, in turn of events, ends up being the only son of wealthy builder, Jayant Amar Nath, and ends up getting married to his sweetheart and neighbor, Rosy. Finally Nisha meets her ideal match in Rukhtapur-based Suraj Singh, a wedding singer/dancer, and gets married to him - not realizing that Suraj is not who he claims to be and she is merely a pawn in a charade that has been created especially to pull wool over her eyes. What unfolds next is a pure journey of laughter.
