The film chronicles his early years from his birth as the nemesis of his evil uncle Kans to his combat against innumerable lethal demons who are sent by none other than Kans to kill Krishna. This enthralling film brings to life Krishna`s various adventures and miracles, in an aim to put an end to evil.

After his first novel 'Light House' flops, wealthy, Delhi-based Akash Dev, with the help of his editor, Khanna, decides to travel to a small village, Shivpura, to meet with Gandhian Jayshankar Chaube, and write something controversial about Mahatma Gandhi. On the way, he bids adieu to his girlfriend, Komal Malhotra, whose mother, Shanti, disapproves of him, and goes on his way. Before reaching Shivpura, his jeep breaks down near Palanpur and he takes it to a nearby mechanic, who turns out to be incompetent. To makes matters worse, Akash's luggage is stolen, and he gets stranded in a town where even the phone does not work. He tries to impress everyone that he knows a lot of influential politicians in Delhi, who live in the neighborhood of Chanakyapuri, but gets caught up in a challenge to built a road, and romantically involved with the Village Mukhiya's arrestingly beautiful daughter, Akansha. Now Akash must come up with ways to live up to this challenge, and he will find that none is forthcoming, but trouble is arising on the horizon, especially when the Chief Minister finds out his intentions - and decides to teach him a bitter lesson of daring to interfere in the state's politics.

But Aarti survives, disfigured beyond recognition by a crocodile attack, With the help of plastic surgery, she transforms herself into a successful model and renames herself Jyoti. She then plans to carry out her vengeance against Sanjay, but finds that he has been physically abusing her children, pets, and servants. Arjun Yadav return from the city after completing his studies to get settled in his village with his family consisting of his mother Devi Chaudaran, his older brother Amrit and sister. Arjun finds out that Amrit and Thakur Bhanwar Singh does not get along quiet well and attempts to be a peace-maker between the two. One day situation takes a turn for the worse when Amrit is killed, Devi Chaudaran loses her senses, Arjun's sister is raped and he himself is beaten and tied to a tree. Mona D'Silva (Dimple Kapadia) runs a small restaurant in Goa. Raja (Kamal Haasan), who lives close by, is a good friend & a fisherman. He is in love with her but is unable to profess his feelings. Raja is waiting to earn enough money, so he can buy his own boat and can provide the luxuries of life to Mona. Thekedaar (Goga Kapoor) is the owner of the docks & the boats. Cheena (Lilliput) is Raja's mute friend and Raja looks out for him Mr D'Silva (Saeed Jaffrey) is Mona's father and likes Raja. Miss Joseph (Nadira) is Raja's adoptive mom & knows Raja loves Mona. Mr Silva wants Mona to marry Raja, but she considers him as only a friend. Vikram (Shafi Inamdar) is the GM of a large fishing company. Batuk Laal (Satish Kaushik) is his assistant. They both work for Kamla Devi (Madhur Jaffrey), the owner of the firm. Vikram wants to ban small fisherman from the sea as their catch impact the market price of the company's products. Kamla Devi is Vikram's aunt, and he dreams of inheriting her wealth and position. But she informs Vikram that her grandson is moving to Goa from the US. Kamla does not like that her son married a commoner due to which Ravi was born. Vikram had eyes on Kamla's wealth and is not happy that Ravi is moving back to Goa, as the heir apparent. Kamla's son and his wife died when Ravi was 7 yrs old. Kamla brought Ravi back, but kept him in hostel for all his life, and only now decided to bring him to Goa to stay with her. Ravi (Rishi Kapoor) moves to Goa and Kamla wants him to manage the business. Ravi does not like that Kamla speaks disparagingly about his parents, and for taunting his death father for wasting his life by marrying his commoner mother. Ravi sees Mona swimming naked in the early morning sun on the beach and goes nuts. One day Vikram decides to drive his boat right through the local fishermen's nets that were deployed in the ocean, damaging them substantially. Raja is a witness and asks Vikram for compensation at his office. Vikram refuses, but Ravi intervenes and agrees to pay, as he has sympathy for the poor. Ravi starts pursuing Mona, and even serenades her. Mona and Ravi fall in love of which Raja knows nothing. Meanwhile Vikram advises Kamla to drop their fish prices in the market. This would force the poor fishermen to match their prices, which they cannot afford as they need to pay interest on their borrowings. This pricing move would wipe out all the poor fishermen of the area and allow Kamla to corner the entire market. Kamla approves the pricing move. The fishermen led by Raja contemplate their next move, but Ravi reaches out to Raja and befriends him, by drinking with him at a local bar. The friendship between Ravi and Raja grows. Ravi wants to marry Mona, but hesitates to ask her dad, so he decides to ask Raja to represent him. But before Ravi can ask, Raja tells Ravi how much he loves Mona, but hasn't had the courage to tell her. Ravi is heartbroken, and decides to step back from Mona. when Ravi finds that Raja is waiting to buy his own boats before he proposes to Mona, he arranges for a family friend to give Raja a business investment (without Raja ever realizing that the investment came from Ravi). Ravi writes a letter to Mona, and tells her that he is going away. They meet for one last time, and Ravi tells Mona that Raja loves her. Meanwhile Raja is ecstatic that he now has a business investment to buy his own boats. He prepares to propose to Mona. He rushes to Mona, only to find Mona and Ravi in a deep embrace. Raja is heartbroken and spends the whole night alone and drinking. Miss Joseph finds out about Raja's heartbreak. The next day Mona approaches Raja and says that she loves Ravi. And Ravi wont even talk to her, unless Raja fixes things between them, as he does not want to come between Mona and Raja. She categorically says that Raja is a great friend to her, but nothing more. To placate Mona, Raja pretends that all of this was only a ruse to get Ravi and Mona to profess their love for each other publicly. Raja then helps reunite Ravi with Mona. Post this Raja leaves with Miss Jospeh to visit her sister. Vikram tells Kamla about Ravi's affair with Mona. Ravi's grandmother, Kamladevi, is opposed to their love because of class differences. Ravi brings Mona to meet Kamla, but she was away on business trip. Ravi gives a holiday to all servants and proceeds to have some frolic with Mona. But Vikram finds out and tells Kamla that Ravi is alone at her bungalow with Mona. Kamla returns to the house and forces Mona to leave without meeting her properly. Kamla refuses to meet Mona formally, but tells Ravi to send Mr D'Silva to meet her. Kamla insults D'Silva over his and his daughter's status, and throws D'Silva out of her house. D'Silva has an heart attack after he is beaten up by Kamla's goons. When Kamla refuses to apologize to the D'Silva family, Ravi leaves her. Ravi goes to meet D'Silva, but is beaten up by the villagers and thrown outside the village. Kamla asks Vikram to buy the loans of the entire village. Kamla then sends the police with court orders to seize the boats of the entire village. The villagers send Mona to beg Kamla to relent. Kamla offers her a choice between Ravi and the welfare of the entire village. Kamla orders Mona to marry someone else within 7 days. Ravi threatens Kamla that if Mona gets married, he will commit suicide. Meanwhile Raja returns from his trip, & D'Silva asks Raja to marry Mona. Raja decides to help Mona and Ravi. Ravi finds out that Raja really loved Mona and that he sacrificed his own love for the sake of his friendship with Ravi. Ravi is shocked. Meanwhile Kamla decides that she cannot afford to lose Ravi and tells Vikram to get him back, by telling him that she is ready to accept all of his demands. Vikram decides to kill Ravi. Vikram abducts Mona and forces Ravi to surrender. He wants Ravi to commit suicide, but Raja intervenes and attacks Vikram's goons. Raja defeats the goons and asks Ravi and Mona to leave town asap. Ravi refuses to take Mona with him, as he knows that Raja loves Mona. But then Vikram gets up and shoots at Ravi. Raja sees this and comes in between, taking the bullets on himself. Ravi kills Vikram, but Raja dies. Kamla accepts Ravi and Mona.

Avtaar Krishen lives a poor lifestyle with his wife, Radha, and two sons, Ramesh and Chander. He works in a factory and toils hard so that his sons can get the necessary education, and live a better lifestyle. He gets injured and crippled while working, but is compensated adequately by his employer, Bawaji. Years later his sons have grown up. While Ramesh has married Sudha and works with a bank; Chander is wooing Renu, the only daughter of wealthy Seth Laxminarayan. When Avtaar and Radha wish to go on a tirathyatra (pilgrimage), they ask Ramesh to book tickets for them, but he tells them that he has no money. When Radha gets sick, their servant, Sewak, enters Sudha's room to get some money for her treatment, as a result Radha does get treatment, but Sudha blames them for stealing her money. Avtaar asks Ramesh and his wife to get out, only to find out that the house is now in Sudha's name. AVtaar, Radha and Sewak move out and live in a shanty hut. Their hopes are with Chander, who does well in his exams, decides to marry Renu, and moves out without financially assisting his parents. Now Avtaar and Radha are elderly and dependent on Sewak, and the question remains will they resign themselves to this existence, if not, what possibly can a crippled older male accomplish, especially at this time in his life? —rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

Chandramukhi visits Shimla and learns that she is a reincarnation of Paro, a girl who was raped and murdered. Plagued by her dark past, she attempts to bring the culprits to justice. The setting is in scenic Simla, summer capital of the British Raj in the 1970's. Chandramukhi from Bombay is on holiday with her parents and so is Naresh, a US educated medical professional with his parents. Chandramukhi and Naresh show interest in each other, encouraged by their parents. Choudhary Janak Singh, an important and wealthy man lives with his lawyer daughter Karuna in a lovely colonial period mansion. Their house-guest Mohan, a lawyer from Chandigarh is a protege of Janak Singh. Karuna and Mohan develop a romantic interest. The story of Paro and Madho, who lived in pre-independence India comes to affect the present. Events of thirty years ago in the lives of Paro, Madho,Janak, Saraswathi, the gardener and the disgraced policeman come back to create soulful links between past and present. Themes from the life of Zamindars, British Colonial rulers, parapsychology and law are skilfully twisted, so that most turns in the tale are unexpected. Attention to detail is excellent.

Truth, beauty and Godliness are subjective and humans have not been able to find an objective definition for either through centuries of search. It is a human's love, faith and devotion that gives any meaning to any of the 3. The story is set in a village where Roopa (Zeenat Aman) lives with her father, the village priest Pandit Shyam Sunder (Kanhaiyalal). Roopa is unconsidered a jinx as her mother died while giving birth to her. Bansi (A. K. Hangal) is Roopa's uncle and protects her from Pandit's wrath. Pandit wanted a boy and hence hated Roopa as a burden on himself. From the very early age, Roopa had a fabulous voice and she supported her father, the temple priest, in conducting religious ceremonies for patrons, which requires singing devotional songs. Still, the priest does not value Roopa and does not even celebrate her birthday as he says that he lost his wife the same day and does not know how to celebrate that day. As a young child (Padmini Kolhapure), the right side of Roopa's face and neck were burned by a pot of boiling oil which she spilled on herself while cooking a meal for her father. She was cooking the meal on occasion of her birthday, which Bansi insisted should be celebrated, leaving part of her face disfigured. Due to this dis-figuration, she is unmarried and everyone in the village pities her. Henceforth, Roopa keeps her right cheek hidden under the veil of her sari. Despite the terrible accident, Roopa remains religious and goes to the village temple daily, singing hymns and devotional songs. Pandit is eager to get Roopa married as she is old enough, but Shastri (Subroto Mahapatra), Roopa's prospective father-in-law & Shastri's son (Javed Khan) demand a hefty dowry to take her on. Despite the cruelty of her own father, Roopa understands her fate and says that she is resigned to stay at home and does not want Shyam to exert himself in his old age to gather money for her dowry. Rajeev (Shashi Kapoor) is a dashing engineer who arrives in the village to oversee the operation of a major dam. He lives in a guest house managed by dam supervisor Bade Babu (David Abraham Cheulkar) and Bade Babu's wife (Leela Chitnis). Jai Singh (Vishwa Mehra) is the supervisor. Rajeev's mom and dad have already passed away. Rajeev abhors anything ugly and he even gets scared when he sees his optically disfigured face in mirrors at the village fair. He hears Roopa's lovely singing at the temple and then later at the inauguration function of the new dam and meets her when she arrives at the temple again early morning. Rajeev does not see her disfigured side, and falls in love with her. Village belle Champa (Sheetal) is also in love with Rajeev. Rajeev mistakes Champa for Pooja and expresses his love for her. When he realizes she is not Pooja, he runs away, angering Champa. Rajeev continues to pursue Roopa during her morning singing sessions at the temple. He follows her to a waterfall where he watches her bathe and return to the temple. Rajeev introduces himself to Roopa and it is clear that he is attracted to her. Roopa hides her hideous side from Rajeev. One day Roopa and Rajeev both share a sensuous moment under the waterfall, where Pooja also finds herself attracted to Rajeev. Rajeev kisses her that day. He wants to sleep with her, but Roopa says she will have sex only after marriage. Rajeev then asks her father's permission to marry her. Roopa does not want to cheat Rajeev because she loves him deeply and first request his father to reject the marriage proposal. But everyone from the village (including the Panchayat) request her to change her mind. They even donate funds for her wedding festivities and thereby she agreed to get married to Rajeev thinking he may accept her with her condition as he claimed to love her truly. After the wedding, Rajeev discovers the truth and thinks that he was cheated and forced to marry someone else, at which point he disowns Roopa and drives her out of the house. Rajeev roams around the village at the wedding night in search of another Roopa, as he think there is another girl with the same name, waiting for him. On the other side, after being rejected by Rajeev at their wedding night, Roopa decides to commit suicide but rescued by Rajeev, when he thought he found the girl he fall in love with, not his wife. After being rescued, Roopa decides to meet him at night, using a veil to hide the scarred side of her face. Rajeev spends his days ignoring his wife, and his nights loving his mistress including having sex with her in the darkness of night, not knowing they are both the same woman. Rajeev's servant Jaisingh notices that Roopa is meeting Rajeev as his mistress at night. During one of their nights together, they make love and Roopa gets pregnant. When Rajeev finds out that his wife is pregnant, he accuses her of infidelity and refuses to believe that his "mistress" and wife are the same. He publicly shames her and wont relent even when Jaisingh also confirms that Rajeev's wife is Roopa and there is no other girl, and sends her back to her home. Seeing it, Roopa's father dies out of agony. Roopa vows that she will never ever return to Rajeev as his mistress. A terrible storm ravages the village, breaking open the dam which Rajeev had come to repair. The village is being evacuated as the dam's shutters are opening. In the swirling waters of the flood, Rajeev sees how shallow he has been. He finds his wife singing a lovely song in her sweet voice and comes to the realization that Roopa and his wife are the same woman, and saves Roopa from drowning. The dam waters flood the village and break the bridge that the villagers were using to cross over to the other side and safety. Once safe in the vicinity of the temple, Rajeev ask for Roopa's forgiveness and accepts Roopa as his wife.

By the time we learn to live, life is gone. Archana, an educated daughter of retired principal loves Professor Sukhesh. This love born out of intellectual impact is supported by the fond hopes of her father that leads to matrimonial alliance. Archana's mother is of a different class with materialistic notions of life and she too unwillingly gives her consent to the marriage. Seeds of marital love have not yet flowered into sweet joys of wedlock when whims and ego's of Archana and Sukhesh start clashing. Though a dutiful loving wife of a sweet husband, Archana is very much the daughter of her mother, who with all good intentions intervenes in the day to day life of the couple. Understanding leads to misunderstandings and the lovers start misinterpreting each other's sentiments. This ultimately leads to break in marriage - hence the ultimate- eventual separation. Kora Kagaz answers the struggle of intellectual lovers who find it difficult to enjoy marital bliss. The film is a lesson in both love and marriage. —Everest Entertainment
