In 2000, Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh), then known as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, leaves his hometown in Pathankot to undergo military training. During his absence, a violent land dispute involving local MLA Sukhwinder Singh (Aashish Duggal) leads to attacks on his family: his father is hanged and his elder sister Harleen (Hitika Bali) sexually assaulted and murdered, and younger sister Jasleen (Pari Pandher) abducted. Upon returning with weapons purchased from UP based mafia don and political leader Atif Ahmed (Salim Siddiqui), Jaskirat, with the help of his friend Gurbaaz (Udaybir Sandhu), brutally murders Sukhwinder and the rest of his gang, and rescues Jasleen. Jaskirat was a trained army soldier by then and he uses that training to make sure that no male in Sukhwinder's family survives. He is subsequently arrested, tried, and sentenced to death. Before his incarceration, he entrusts Jasleen's future to Gurbaaz. In 2002, Jaskirat is abducted during a prison transfer and brought before intelligence officials Ajay Sanyal (R. Madhavan) Director of IB, and Sushant Bansal (Manav Gohil) Deputy Director of IB. Sanyal says that he can get Jaskirat off the death row and the Government will take care of his family, but he asks for Jaskirat's life in exchange. Jaskirat will have to do as told. Jaskirat says that his father and grandfather both served in the army, but his patriotism died when his family was disowned by the same system that he had vowed to protect. Sanyal reminds Jaskirat that as men it is their duty to fight for their family. He promises a dark life, but a meaningful one. Sanyal says that only he has the outlet for the rage that is still inside Jaskirat. By 2004, he is recruited into a covert program to infiltrate Pakistani terror networks, given the identity of Hamza Ali Mazari, and deployed to Lyari via Kabul, where he severs ties with his past and operates under handler Mohammed Aalam (Gaurav Gera) a juice shop owner in Lyari. Sanyal tells Jaskirat to be vigilant and patient. After entering Kabul, Jaskirat burns the only photo of his family he had in his possession. By 2009, following the death of Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna) in Lyari, Hamza manipulates local factions to ignite a conflict between the Baloch and Pathan gangs. Hamza tells Uzair that it was Arshad Pappu who informed Aslam about Rehman's location as he wanted to rule Lyari. This results in the death of Pathan gang leader Arshad Pappu (Ashwin Dhar) and the arrest of Rehman's Baloch cousin brother Uzair Baloch (Danish Pandor), consolidating Hamza's influence in Karachi while advancing his mission. Jameel played a dubious role in this as on one hand he showed Arshad that he will protect him, on the other hand he instructs SP Aslam to barricade Lyari and to not allow any Pathan to pass through. Jameel then directs Arshad to his milk factory as a safe place to hide, but Hamza was already there waiting for him. Uzair tortures Arshad and then kills him in broad daylight in full public view. Aquib Ali Zarwari (Sanjay Mehandiratta), President of Pakistan and leader of the PAP was under a lot of pressure due to the violence in Lyari and Major Iqbal suggests that they arrest Uzair since he was recorded while killing Arshad. Hamza helps Uzair escape to Dubai and tells Aslam exactly when Uzair will be landing so he can be arrested. Uzair is brought to Pakistan and imprisoned for 12 years. SP Aslam tells Major Iqbal that he killed Rehman as he wanted revenge for Dawood. Aslam says that Rehman's brother-in-law Bilal had commercial property in Lyari of 500 Crores, which was usurped by Dawood's brother Noora. Rehman asked Dawood to instruct Noora to vacate the land, but Dawood refused to intervene. In response, Rehman had Noora abducted and killed by the BUF. As the leader of Lyari, Hamza decides to back the Muslim Movement Party headed by Nawaz Shafiq (Mashhoor Amrohi) to fight the elections against PAP. Jameel also changes his allegiance from PAP to MMP. Hamza also repairs his relations with the BUF leader Shirani (Bimal Oberoi) who also promises his support to Hamza. Hamza's wife Yalina gives birth to their first son and with MMP coming to power, Hamza becomes the undisputed King of Lyari and the Baadshah of Karachi. In 2014, Narendar Damodardas Modi takes oath as the Prime Minister of India. This is a major blow to Major Iqbal who had tried to influence the elections to get the Congress Party to power. Hamza's actions drew him into the inner circle of "Bade Sahab" Dawood Ibrahim (Danish Iqbal), who tasks him with facilitating narcotics operations to fund military operations. Dawood wanted Iqbal to ensure that the UP elections went their way and parties sympathetic to the Muslim cause remained in power. Dawood orders Rs 70,000 Crores in fake Indian currency to be printed and pushed into UP to control the elections. Dawood and Iqbal reveal that ISI supports all anti-India forces including Punjab rebels, Kashmiri militants, Naxals and so on. Iqbal says that keeping India weak makes Pakistan strong. Pakistan buys cheap drugs from Karachi and sells them at a premium in India and uses the profits to buy American and Russian arms to arm the various anti-national outfits in India. A group of Punjabi rebels is brought in to assist, including Gurbaaz, unknown to Hamza. Gurbaaz is the leader of the group who buys Rs 12 Crores worth of drugs and plans to sell it in India for Rs 150 Crores. During a party at Hamza's house, an intoxicated Gurbaaz confronts him and threatens to reveal his identity to the others, leading to a fight that ends with Gurbaaz dead. Aalam arrives to cover-up the incident. When he is discovered, Hamza kills him in front of the guests. The ISI tells Aslam that they suspect Hamza as there was no need to kill Aalam and he could have been a source of information. Yalina overhears this. Yalina (Sara Arjun) Hamza's wife, uncovers Hamza's true identity when she finds his secret diary in which he had written everything from the very beginning. Yalina confronts him but agrees to remain silent for the sake of their son, Zayan, and understanding his reasons. Hamza says that Pakistan had conducted numerous terrorist attacks against India and cost the lives of numerous innocents. Hamza was only trying to get them justice. Yalina tells Hamza that Aslam suspects him. As suspicion grows, SP Chaudhary Aslam (Sanjay Dutt) Lyari Task Force (LTF), Sindh Police, begins investigating Hamza but is killed in a suicide attack orchestrated by Hamza through the Balochistan United Force (BUF). At a secret meeting in Dubai, Sanyal grants Hamza autonomy to dismantle the remaining terror network and initiate Operation Green Leaf, leading him to assassinate several key operatives, including a panicked terror financier and fake Indian currency maker Javed Khanani (Ankit Sagar), whose fake currency became useless due to demonetization, and IC 814 hijacker Zahoor Mistry (Vivek Sinha), whose death is observed by Sanyal on a video call. Atif Ahmed is arrested in India, to cut the terror link from Pakistan to Nepal to India. Dawood plans an attack on India after the judgment on Ayodhya Ram Jamnbhoomi case. Hamza on was sitting in the meeting when Iqbal says that till Atif Ahmed is alive, their work in India will continue uninterrupted. Simultaneously, while going for a medical check, an imprisoned Atif Ahmed is assassinated by unknown gunmen, shocking Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal) from ISI and many others. Meanwhile, Aslam's second-in-command Omar (Aditya Uppal) uncovers Hamza's true identity by extorting Yalina after holding Zayan at gunpoint and informs Major Iqbal. Hamza travels to Iqbal's Madrassa in Muridke to deliver weapons. During their meeting, Iqbal confronts Hamza as an Indian spy and stabs him, but a bomb planted by Hamza and the BUF in the weapons crates kills multiple militants. A firefight ensues between Iqbal's Mujahideen and the BUF (disguised as Pakistan Rangers). Hamza destroys Iqbal's transport with an RPG, has the BUF level the Madrassa, and pursues Iqbal to a shipping yard, where they fight until Hamza kills Iqbal in a kerosene tanker explosion. After a final phone call with Yalina, Hamza is captured and tortured by Omar, until Sanyal coerces his release by blackmailing the head of Pakistani intelligence, Shamshad Hassan (Raj Zutshi), with evidence of his dealings with Israeli intelligence. Hamza suggests Uzair to be used as a scapegoat and framed as India's spy. Hamza is picked up by his father-in-law Jameel Jamali (Rakesh Bedi) a senior politician of the Pakistani Awami Party (PAP) and Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan, who reveals himself as a longtime Indian asset who had been slowly poisoning Dawood while embedded in his network. Having completed his mission, Hamza abandons his alias, being forced to leave Yalina and their son behind for the sake of their well-being and returns to India as Jaskirat Singh Rangi. Though commended for his service, Jaskirat disappears before his formal debriefing and returns to his childhood home, which he wistfully gazes from afar. Flashbacks depict Jaskirat's training with the Research & Analysis Wing (R&AW). Shamshad orders Omar into a mental asylum after he threatens to reveal Shamshad's release of Hamza to the National Assembly.

Dhurandhar is a genre-bending, edge-of-the-seat action thriller with big stars playing iconic characters. Told with audacious swagger, the story follows a mysterious "traveller" as he slips into the heart of Karachi's underbelly and rises through its ranks with lethal precision, only to tear the notorious ISI-Underworld nexus apart from within.

The story is about two friends and cops, Javed Abbas (Jackie Shroff) and Arun Verma (Shahrukh Khan), who are both Special Task Force officers and partners. Javed is a widower who is bringing up his 4 children (Fatima Sana Shaikh is one of the kids) with a lot of love and effort while Arun is his carefree, hotheaded, trigger-happy albeit well-meaning subordinate and brother-like friend. Arun doesn't like Javed's four children, just like he doesn't like any kid, nor do the four children like him and they keep playing pranks on Arun whenever they meet him. Champak (Dilip Joshi) is Arun's friend from college and stays with him in his house. KKV (Krishan Kant Virmani) (Nirmal Pandey) is a local drug lord that the entire police department have always been desperate to bring him to justice. But due to KKV's broad connection in the police department, nobody ever manages to find any solid proof against him. Bipasha (Sahila Chadha), Inspector Sawant (Raj Zutshi) and Inspector Rajendra (Suresh Chatwal) are also part of Javed's team. With the help of an informer, police catch KKV's group red handed while he is dealing drugs. But later someone replaces the drugs detained from KKV with sugar, making KKV released, which makes it very clear that someone in the police department is working for KKV. The Police Commissioner (Akash Khurana) is eager to find out that traitor. Javed figures out that someone switched the drug packets from KKV's raid with sugar packets and knows that this was an inside job. Geeta (Juhi Chawla) is Javed's friend. Once she meets Arun and falls in love with him at the first sight, but Arun shows no special interest in her and always avoids her. While on a subsequent drug raid (Which Arun and Javed lead together. Javed had given his bullet proof jacket to Arun before the raid), Javed is shot dead by an unknown assailant (who knew Javed and attacked him while he was alone). Before the mission, Javed wrote a letter to Arun, asking Arun to take care of his four kids if he cannot survive. As Javed's best friend, in spite of not liking kids, Arun decides to adopt Javed's children, instead of sending them to an orphanage. Arun also engages with Geeta so that he can have her helping him taking care of those children. Arun also develops his feeling for Geeta gradually. Arun's life becomes difficult as his salary is not enough to support so many people. In a visit to KKV's club to warn him, Arun unexpectedly finds that Geeta is the dancer at that club. Arun becomes angry with Geeta, not only because he thinks bar dancer is a filthy job, but also because he thinks Geeta has long been cheating him by pretending to be decent. When he returns home later, he confronts Geeta and questions her for that, but the children all say that Geeta was with them all day, making Arun have to believe that the bar dancer is another person that simply looks like Geeta. Arun has to back off when the kids allege that maybe Arun was the one who shot Javed, but there is no proof of that. Arun is asked to vacate Javed's government flat as that is for serving police officers only. Under the pressure of living, Arun robs KKV. He takes a big amount of money from KKV, which he knew was dirty money, and buys a big house for his family. Arun gets arrested immediately, not for the robbery, but however for illegal drug possession (The same drugs that went missing from police possession while Javed was investigating the case). He is charged with being KKV's spy as police identifies that the drugs found in his house belongs to KKV. Obviously, Arun is trapped by someone, but he does not know who trapped him. In the court. Geeta also testifies against Arun, however, not as his fiance, but as a secret police officer who worked at KKV's bar -- yes, the bar dancer whom Arun saw before -- and the witness of Arun's robbery. Arun is therefore suspended from duty until further trial. Arun now does not believe anyone anymore; he decides to find the killer of Javed and the spy for KKV by his own. He questions a police officer (the guy in charge of the evidence locker room from where the KKV drugs were stolen in the first place) at his home, whom he believes to be corrupted. The officer admits he is a spy for KKV, but follows the order of JD, another police officer. He also says he does not know who killed Javed, but JD does. Arun kills him and heads for JD's house. On his way to JD's house, Arun calls Geeta for help, who was with the Police Commissioner when answering the phone call. With the permission of the Commissioner, Geeta joins Arun to question JD, only to find JD was killed right before they arrive. They believe the Police Commissioner is the spy as he is the only third person that knows they are heading for JD. Arun rushes to the Police Commissioner's house and thrashes him, but the latter denies being a spy for KKV. Geeta goes to CBI Chief's Diwakar (Keith Stevenson) house to report the situation, who is the superior of the Police Commissioner, but she finds KKV is in the Chief's house with him, making her immediately realize the Chief is the real spy as he might have known the plan from the Commissioner. The Chief and KKV try to kill Geeta, but she manages to escape. Geeta visits Arun and the Commissioner and tells them her findings about the Chief. The Commissioner is shocked to know that, and he knows that the Chief is going to leave the country very soon. They arrive at the airport to stop the Chief from leaving. During the gunfight at the airport, KKV kills the Chief when taking him as a hostage and inspector Sawant (Raj Zutshi) kills KKV and gets killed by Arun, who reveals himself as the killer of Javed at the final scene.

In order to evade the law, a ruthless don tries to kill his lookalike; a chef and tries to take his place. Bablu (Shah Rukh Khan), an aspiring chef, works in a hotel where Sonia Kapoor,(Juhi) works with him as banquet manager at the restaurant. His look-alike Manu (Shah Rukh Khan), a gangster, robs a bank along with his friend (Gulshan Grover) but gets caught. He comes out of prison and discovers that his cohort has double-crossed him. He murders his partner and escapes from the scene of the crime...without the money. Bablu stumbles on the money and keeps it. Manu's lover Lily (Sonali Bendre) mistakes Bablu to be Manu and spirits him away. Manu takes shelter in Bablu's house and realizes that he can use their resemblance to his advantage.Then starts the fun-ride with Babloo constantly being mistaken for Manu. With both Sonia and Lily after him, Manu furious and the Law taking him to be Manu, Babloo faces a tough time. Though his ancestors have been body-builders and wrestlers, he wants to be a chef. On the way to an interview he meets with Sonia Kapoor (Juhi Chawla), who happens to be the Banquet Manager at the very same restaurant where he is headed for theinterview, and she hires him. Both start to fall in love with each other. One day Inspector R.K. Thakur (Tiku Talslania) arrests Bablu on a variety of criminal offences. Bablu is shocked and in disbelief, and baffled because the police keep on refering to him as "Manu". At the intervention of his mom, along with identification papers and photographs, Bablu is released and provided with an identity card so that the police know he is not Manu. Manu, who is the exact look-alike of Bablu, comes to know of this, and takes away Bablu's id. card, and takes on the identity of Bablu, leaving the hapless Bablu to be arrested again by the police. Roop Singh Rathore (Shahrukh Khan) is a singer in Rajasthan just like his father, Shambunath Singh Rathod (Anupam Kher). Roop and Shambu together host puppet shows for tourists and have a happy life together. Shambunath falls sick and needs immediate medical care in Bombay. Shambu is against going to Bombay as his own brother Raghuveer had gone there several years ago and died in a road accident. Shambu says that Bombay is a heartless city which will take Roop away from him. Roop gets very emotional and threatens to leave home, so Shamu agrees to go. Roop and his father immediately transfer to Bombay, where Roop goes to find work in a hotel owned by Ajay Narang (Naseeruddin Shah), where his friend Chandu also works as a waiter. Ajay dotes on his sister Reshma and her happiness means everything to him. Ajay had a partnership with Minister KK Singh (Anant Jog), but Ajay beat him up mercilessly when one day KK Singh put his evil eye on Reshma. Roop manages to enter Reshma's birthday party and starts singing. Ajay and Reshma are enthralled by his voice. Ajay's sister Reshma (Ramya Krishnan) falls in love with Roop. Reshma is a spoiled girl and Ajay sees through all of her wishes. Upon Reshma's recommendation, Ajay hires Roop to sing at his hotel. Roop is over the moon and indebted to Reshma, due to which he will be able to pay for Shambu's treatment. Roop meets Pooja (Pooja Bhatt) when she saves his life from a road accident at night, when she was going home from the hospital. Roop doesn't know her name or address. But Shambhu meets Pooja in the hospital, where she is a nurse, and immediately like her as his future daughter-in-law. Shambu decides to meet Pooja's maternal uncle (Avtar Gill), brother (Razak Khan) and paternal uncle (Amrit Patel) to ask for her hand for Roop. They all agree if Pooja consents to the marriage. Roop keeps running into Pooja in Bombay and even Pooja starts liking him. They both are shy to admit their feelings to each other, and Roop still doesn't know Pooja's name. Pooja realizes that Roop is Shambu's son, and that Shambu wants to marry her to Roop. The next day Roop also finds out that Pooja is the girl that Shambu wants him to marry. Meanwhile, Reshma becomes obsessed with Roop. When she sees that all the girls are flattered over Roop, she gets very jealous and asks him to sing only for her now from then on-wards. Roop realizes that Reshma is obsessed with him and decides to leave. Roop prefers to work for Ajay's rival, Patel (Shrivallabh Vyas), rather than take Reshma's offer. Ajay's obsession with keeping his sister happy at all costs comes into play and Patel is brutally beaten by him until he agrees to throw Roop out of his hotel. Turns out this is the 2nd time Reshma has been obsessed with someone. Ajay remembers the time many years ago when Reshma went through the same symptoms when she fell in love with someone. Shambu's situation gets worse when the tumor bursts after he eats betel leaf. Now, he must be operated upon, and he needs to arrange money for it within 24 hours. Desperately in need of money for his father's operation, Roop has no option but to work for Reshma and Ajay. Reshma slowly becomes creepily obsessed towards Roop, treating anyone that stands in the way of her love towards him. Ajay reveals to Roop that many years ago Reshma was happily married. The one day, she found that her husband had cheated on her, and she started crying. Ajay could not tolerate that, and he killed her husband by smashing his head into the wall. He warns Roop never to make Reshma cry. Shambunath's undergoes an operation, which goes well, but seeing Roop extremely unhappy with his new life, which saddens Shambu. To protect Pooja and his family, Roop decides it is best to break up with Pooja, despite her efforts to console him. Pooja tells Roop that he did the right thing to save his father. To help Roop get over her, she decides to marry colony boy Raja (Pankaj Berry) who is in love with Pooja. Shambu is disappointed with Roop and says that he was better off dead. Roop is shaken and decides to leave Reshma. He goes to Pooja's wedding and expresses his love for her. Pooja refuses to reconsider, but Raja comes forward and reunites the lovers, relinquishing his claim on Pooja. Roop later tries to leave Bombay himself, along with his father and Pooja, but his plans are interrupted when Reshma tries to commit suicide, causing Ajay to have an outburst of anger. Nevertheless, Pooja and Roop get married. Frustrated with such a turn of events, Reshma and her brother devise a plan to make their lives miserable. After tracking Roop, Shambunath, and Pooja down, Ajay puts Roop's father on gallows and a rope tied around his neck with Roop on his feet, leaves with Pooja, and asks Roop to save Pooja or his father. Although Roop refuses to leave his father in such a horrible situation, Roop's father kicks him, sacrificing himself so that he could save Pooja and his son could be happy. Roop sets out to save Pooja, which brings him to a party Ajay is throwing at his hotel. Roop crashes Ajay's party where Pooja is being held hostage. Ajay and Roop begin to fight and brawl, during which Reshma threatens to kill Pooja if Roop doesn't stop fighting with her brother. Ajay then tries to shoot Roop, but Pooja, who just sees him, pushes Roop out of the way and Reshma gets shot, getting killed. Ajay is left in a shocked and catatonic state, while Roop and Pooja escape. Roop and Pooja end up crying on a sidewalk, embracing each other bloodily and distressed.
