The story revolves around one such Patel family and its numerous attempts to immigrate to the States.

Produced by Rajshri, the story is slightly different from the marriage movies made under the banner. The characters played by Sonu Sood and Isha Koppikar fall in love with each other. But circumstances compel them to stay away from each other for 12 years. What Ek Vivah. unfolds is how the two meet each other again and get married.

Two college students exchange their classes after the college management mixed their identical names by mistake. As a new principal of a college [of fairly bad reputation], Mr. Awasthi has to take steps which are stringent and yet, fruitful. He studies in B.S.S. College of Arts & Science, is very studious, attains good marks in all subjects, except in sports. Fellow-collegian Raju Malhotra, born on February 21, 1985, lives a wealthy lifestyle along with his strict, disapproving dad, mom, and an unmarried sister, Kavita, in Mahim, Mumbai. Raju is the opposite of Rajan, does poorly in studies, but is a trouble-maker, a slacker but good in sports. When Diwan Chand Awasthi takes over the College as the new Principal he decides to separate the students into three groups, (A for ones who score 70% or more; B for those who score from 50% to 70%; and C for those who score under 50%). Raju clearly falls under 'C' but as he has given his heart to pretty Rashmi, who is an 'A' student, he decides to switch his photo Id. card with that of Rajan, who readily accepts this challenge as he is basically a nice guy. Raju wins over Rashmi's heart with Rajan's help, while Rajan slowly starts falling for 'C' student, Dinky Kapoor. While in C class Rajan happen to captivate the attention of his classmate, Dinky Kapoor and both fall in love; unfortunately Awasthi gets to find out about the mix-up between the Malhotras and decides to arrange for an examination that will bring their true colors to light but this does not help prompting Awasthi to enroll Rajan into a dancing competition and Raju into a quiz competition. Things appear to be going very well until Manoj finds out that his Taoji is still horny; one of his brothers is carrying on with Faujia, the maid; while the to-be bride, Piya, is planning to elope with her boyfriend, Rahul. Rajbir "Radhe" Mohan (Salman Khan) is a jobless rowdy, surrounded by a rough circle including Kanak (Darshan Kumar), Aslam (Sarfaraz Khan) and Chander (Gopal Dutt). He lives with his brother Ajay (Sachin Khedekar), his sister-in-law (Savita Prabhune), and their child. Radhe's brother is a decent, family man. Radhe used to study at the local City college, but still controls the entire student politics by ensuring that his candidates win in the student body elections. Radhe is a violent man, but often performs apparently good deeds, such as beating up sexual harassers. Radhe is liked by the studious types in college as he keeps the criminal elements out of student politics and provides a safe environment within college premises. Ajay does not like how Radhe resorts to violence on behalf of other students at the college. Ajay wants Radhe to find a job and move on with his life. Nirjara is a new student at the college who is attending classes from out of town. She comes to college daily by train. She has a single friend Indu (Indu Verma). Radhe meets Nirjara during her ragging session, which he conducts for all newcomers. Nirjara likes peacock feathers. Radhe also supports a mentally unstable beggar (Radhika Chaudhary). A local rival goon insults the beggar by dropping her skirt and embarrassing her publicly. Radhe takes offense at this and beats the rival goon mercilessly. Nirjara sees Radhe's violent side during this fight and is scared. Radhe falls in love with Nirjara Bhardwaj (Bhumika Chawla), a BA student at his former college and the daughter of a poor temple priest (Saurabh Dubey). Radhe comes across Nirjara across many different social situations, and even at her father's temple. Radhe likes her innocent demeanor & helps her a few times (he stops the catcalls during Nirjara's poem recitation at college annual fest, gets her an exam admit card when she loses it), and she seems to like him. One day, Radhe proposes to her and jokingly remarks that he would beat up her father if he doesn't agree to their marriage. Nirjara is too shocked to say much (and doesn't hear pretty much anything else that Radhe says to her including the actual proposal for marriage) and utters "Yes" when Radhe asks her if she was listening to him. Radhe interprets this as her acceptance of the proposal. Later, he and his friends intimidate Nirjara's fiance Rameshwar (Ravi Kishan) who is a junior priest at the temple and a very docile person. Rameshwar was dropping Nirjara to college on his moped when he was spotted by Radhe. Radhe tells Rameshwar that he is going to marry Nirjara and warns him to stay away from her. The next day, Radhe brings Nirjara a gift, but she tells him that she does not love him and calls him a goon and yells at him publicly. A heartbroken Radhe subsequently tries to talk to her, but she refuses to engage in a conversation. Nirjara has a sister Mamta (Indira Krishnan), whose husband Atmaram (Dinesh Kaushik) is demanding Rs 2 Lakhs from her & her dad for her to be with her son Rahul. Since Mamta or her father don't have that kind of money, Mamata is thrown out of the house and is living with Nirjara and her father. Atmaram used to ask for Rs 20-30K, but now his demands have become more and more outrageous. Mamta tries for a bank loan but has no physical assets for a guarantee. Radhe's friends suggest that he give up rowdyism and violence to impress Nirjara. Radhe tries to control his violence whenever he is in front of Nirjara. Aslam admonishes Radhe when he fails to defend his own friend Chander in front of a rival goon, because Nirjara was there. This leads to a fight between Aslam and Radhe and cause a friction in their friendship. Later, Radhe apologizes to Aslam and Chander. One day, Radhe roughs up a brothel owner who has opened up a brothel in the middle of a Brahmin society and is polluting the social atmosphere. Nirjara's elder sister Mamta, who is in need of money, is nearly tricked into prostitution, when she visits the brothel to meet a man who promises her a loan. Radhe, who does not know that she is Nirjara's sister, visits the same brothel to find a brothel customer who was harassing random women outside the brothel. He saves Mamta from being arrested during a police raid. She tells him that her husband Aatmaram has evicted her and is demanding money to give her the custody of their son. The next day, Radhe beats up Aatmaram, forcing him to take her back and to stop harassing her. Rameshwar sees this and tells Nirjara that Radhe is a good, selfless man, who truly loves her. Unaware of this conversation, Radhe abducts Nirjara so that she would listen to him express his feelings for her. Nirjara initially feels intimidated, but ultimately falls in love with him. Subsequently, the brothel owner (Mahendra Verma) and his goons attack Radhe to take revenge on him for trying to shut down their business. Radhe suffers from brain damage during the attack and loses his mental balance. His family admits him to a religious institution for mental patients, as Nirjara and his friends pray for him. At one point, Radhe's mental state returns to normal, but the wardens do not understand this and beat him up. Nirjara visits the institution and sees him in a pitiful condition while he is sleeping. Convinced that Radhe is not going to get well, Radhe's brother asks Nirjara to forget him and marry Rameshwar. On the day of Nirjara's wedding with Rameshwar, Radhe escapes from the institution, and arrives at her home, only to find that she has committed suicide. Radhe then allows himself to be taken back to the institution despite his family and friends trying to persuade him otherwise. The epilogue shows Radhe, now old and still in the institution, tying peacock feathers in Nirjara's memory.

Major Pratab Singh works in the Indian army and he and his battalion has been assigned duty near the Indo-Pakistan border. There duty mainly consists of eliminating any terrorists trying to cross the Indian border. A Pakistan leader Gul Mustan and well known Lala is plotting to liberate Kashmir from India so that they can take control in there own way but things does not go accordingly as one loyalist of Lala; Albaksh begins to leak important information about there plans to the Indian army. Pratap Singh is in charge of a battalion seeking to stop influx of terrorists and Pakistani soldiers from entering India's borders. He loves beautiful Sonia Khanna, who is also stationed at the same battalion. On the side of the Pakistanis, a leader Gul Mastan, is interested in liberating Kashmir from India, and will leave no stone unturned in order to achieve this. His motive is to rule Kashmir as his own state. He enlists his loyal mercenary Albaksh to achieve this objective. But events turn Albaksh against his master, and gets him on the run, first from the Pakistanis, and then on touching India's border, by the Indian soldiers. Pratap captures Albaksh and promises he will be taken to safety in India. Daughters are Priti (Juhi Chawla), Priya (Simone Singh) and Rani. Ladoo Mama (Shakti Kapoor) is Pratima's brother and lives with Vijay. Ladoo is dating Sweety Aunty (Kunika). Brij (Anang Desai) is a family friend of Vijay. Jagmohan Thappar (Alok Nath) is a business competitor, but on friendly terms with Vijay. Rajesh Purohit (Mohnish Bahl) enters the family, and deviously impresses Vijay with his efficiency, and his eldest daughter Priti (Juhi Chawla) with his charm, whereas his main goal is to impoverish their family and take over Vijay's fortune. Soon, Vijay approves the marriage of Priti and Rajesh who becomes a son-in-law who stays at home. Meanwhile, Ajay falls in love with Nisha (Karisma Kapoor) and plans to marry her. Nisha is Jagmohan's daughter. At first Ajay finds a 100 flaws in Nisha and tells her that she has no sense of dressing. Nisha converts herself to a traditional Indian girl and meets Ajay. Now AJay is interested in her, but Nisha says now she can get any decent guy she wants and starts dating Suniel Shetty to make Ajay jealous. The whole family goes on a picnic to woo Nisha and it turns out that Suniel is Nisha's brother and was only acting to make Ajay jealous. Vijay convinces Ajay to first gain experience in the family business, even though Ajay wants to start his own business. However, ideological differences result in disputes between the two. Hari Singh (Ashish Vidyarthi) is a factory supervisor & union leader who mistreats his workers & gambles during working hours and Ajay sees this. Ajay confronts Hari, who is rude and dismissive towards Ajay. When Hari hits Rajesh, Ajay retaliates and beats Hari. Hari calls a strike. Vijay tells Ajay that he knows everything about Unions and he still ignores this and uses the union for his own purposes. He wants Ajay to apologize to Hari. Vijay forces Ajay to apologize to Hari. Consequently, Ajay stands firm in his decision to start his own business. He asks his father for economic assistance. When Vijay refuses to do so, Ajay takes a loan. When Vijay discovers this, he is furious and throws Ajay out of the house (Rajesh tries to talk to Ajay into accepting Vijay's money and Ajay tells him to get out of his room. Rajesh decides to leave the house (pretending to be offended of being told to leave the house), but Vijay throws out Ajay instead). Ajay finally marries Nisha and they move into their new house. Jagmohan refuses to support Ajay, but Nisha goes against him & marries Ajay. Rajesh makes Vijay sign a power of attorney, without his knowledge, hidden in a stack of normal papers. This is how Vijay goes bankrupt, and all his fortune goes automatically to Rajesh. The lenders arrive at Vijay's doorstep asking for their money back, else they will liquidate all of Vijay's properties, including his house. Rajesh reveals his true nature and it emerges, he was in cahoots with Hari and the money lenders (he had mortgaged the properties for list price, but pocketed half the amount himself). Rajesh knew that Ajay never asked him to leave the house, only his room, but Rajesh deliberately overplayed the incident to get Vijay to throw Ajay out of the house. Priti overhears all this and is shocked. As Ajay finds out what happened, he gets that Rajesh was the one who had incited arguments between the two. Ajay tries to get close to his father again, which causes a crisis in his relationship with Nisha, who is not pleased with Ajay's reunion with his family. Ajay and Nisha get separated due to consistent arguments between them, and while she finds out that she is pregnant, Ajay has already returned home. His mission now is to return his family fortune and his father's faith, as the latter still cannot forgive him their dispute. Vijay and Ajay eventually become reconciled, although he is yet to return the fortune. They get a stay order on the house auction and buy some time to figure the mess out. Vijay rules out harming Rajesh as that would impact Priti. Rajesh begins to treat Priti badly (after Ajay confronts Rajesh and beats him up), and she also comes back home. Ajay is asked by Vijay to get Nisha back home (she had gone to her father after the tiff). But when Ajay arrives there, Jagmohan asks him to sign divorce papers. Ajay brings Nisha home in exchange (in a deal made with Jagmohan only) for signing the divorce papers and asks her not to reveal the truth to his family. But Nisha is shocked when Ajay actually does sign the papers and hands them to Nisha, who goes back home with her dad. As auction is imminent, the factory workers finally realize that they are going to lose everything. They beat up Hari for conspiring against Vijay and his business. Ajay saves Hari and he is grateful. The workers pool their savings and their houses to gather enough cash to buy the factory and the house at the auctions. Ladoo bids against Rajesh at the auction and the winning bid is Rs 125 Crores. Now Ajay has 2 days to pay the money. Ajay then decides to return his family fortune violently (with the full force of all the factory workers) and forces Rajesh to sign another power of attorney which says that the money comes back to Vijay. Vijay uses the money to pay the auction bill. Priti, in a letter tells Rajesh that she can never forgive him for the atrocities he inflicted on her family and orders him to leave for good. Nisha reunites with Ajay when she learns that the divorce was not mutual and was engineered by her father, and the family finally comes together and lives happily as it used to be before.

Raj is against love marriages and when his daughter Isha falls in love with Ronit Malhotra, he opposes their relationship. To cure their sick daughter, a couple travel to a village to clean a well used by the upper caste families. Little do they know that the well harbours demons of men and women who have been killed. Joravar lives in a the desert state of Rajasthan in a small village together with his wife, Lachmi, and two young daughters. His first daughter inexplicably passes away, and both parents take extra special care of their second one. Unfortunately, she too starts suffering inexplicably, with the local doctor throws in the towel and asks her parents to pray for her soul. But both refuse to accept the doctor's verdict and set out to speak to a village elder by the name of Jasso, who asks them to go to Suku Baba who will surely find a way to cure their daughter. The parents travel on camel-back, find Suku Baba, who is already well aware of their plight and has a solution, namely that the parents must travel to another village, and cleanse the well that the upper caste Thakurs used to draw their water from years ago. The parents travel to this village, and ask around for this ascetic well - but nobody is willing to answer their question, all except an elderly woman named Rammo. She shows them the way to the well, and it is here that Joravar will come to know the horrifying secrets, the demons that dwell within the minds of the villagers, as well as the ghosts that dwell in the well - ghosts of tormented men and women - who had been killed by the Thakurs - and who now want their absolution.

Police inspectors Karan and Ali investigate the murder of a colleague, Inspector Rane. Karan takes the responsibility of protecting Anjali, a bar dancer who is a key witness to the crime.

Roshni (Sridevi) is the only child of Sharda Chadda (Reema Lagoo). Her father, Prakash Chadda (Anupam Kher), left before she was born, and she has no knowledge of where he went. Roshni lives with Sharda and her mother (Kamini Kaushal). Roshni wants to know about her dad, but Sharda would always scold her when she asked about her father, and where he is, or what he looked like. Sharda refuses to answer any questions regarding Roshni's father. After Sharda learns she has cancer, she asks her family friend Ahuja (Anang Desai) to take Roshni to Mumbai, so that she learns to live without her and be independent. Roshni is introduced to Rahul Malhotra (Rahul Roy), and they share a mutual attraction. Rahul is a businessman and trades in export / import items. He frequently travels overseas as well. When Rahul learns that she is an aspiring singer, he assists in her career. Rahul gets her an audition with HMV, and as a result her first song is also recorded. Soon, Roshni becomes a major singing sensation. She has a devoted fan named Jagannath, alias Jaggu (Sanjay Dutt), who is a petty thief. Pakya (Laxmikant Berde) works with Jaggu. Jaggu has been following Roshni's career for 2 years now. Jaggu earns good money by selling Roshni's concert tickets in black and follows her all over the country. Sometimes, he even gets on stage to garland her with money. Jaggu is in love with Roshni, but she rejects him. Roshni tells Jaggu that she has a certain lifestyle, and he is only a petty thief. Jaggu promises to earn enough money to be able to afford all the luxuries that Roshni wants in life. Jaggu robs a bank and buys everything on the list (a mansion, an expensive car, lots of dresses and jewelry and so on). Jaggu is eventually arrested for his crimes by Inspector (Mushtaq Khan). But eventually, Jaggu escapes custody. Roshni's mother reveals on her deathbed that Roshni's father Prakash is alive. Prakash had come from Mauritius to do business in India. They met a club and soon got married. Prakash went to Delhi for some official work. He was forced to abandon his family over a government level criminal accusation. Prakash tried to contact Sharda but Roshni's grandmother's reluctance to allow him back home, thwarted all his attempts. She tells Roshni that that she is free to go find her father. Roshni decides to start in Mauritius. Since Rahul is also in Mauritius, Ahuja asks him to pick Roshni from the airport. Since things are too hot for Jaggu in Bombay, he travels to Hong Kong to tide some time. Jaggu is employed by Prakash, who now lives in Hong Kong. In Mauritius, Rahul and Roshni meet Prakash's brother (Mushtaq Khan), who hates Prakash. He says that Prakash's actions in India ruined the families reputation in Mauritus. When Roshni insists, he reveals that Prakash is in Hong Kong. Roshni calls the number in Hong Kong, but Prakash refuses to accept her as his daughter, even though he remembers Sharda. Roshni refuses to give up and decides to go to Hong Kong. Before the flight, Rahul hides 3 drug packets in Roshni's luggage, and his own ticket is booked in a different name. Rahul and Roshni go to Hong Kong to look for her father, Roshni is arrested for trafficking cocaine, and Rahul disappears. Inspector Phillip (Tom Alter) picks Roshni up from the baggage belt after her luggage is marked by sniffer dogs for drugs. Roshni is quickly found guilty and remanded to a prison where inmates are kept barefoot and in squalid conditions. The warden (Bob Christo) sexually abuses the female inmates assisted by female cop (Kunika). Roshni befriends fellow inmate Angela (Soni Razdan), who is on death row for drugs smuggling. Angela's brother Neel is in the male prison block. Angela bribes the guards to meet him from time to time. Jaggu sees Roshni's picture in the papers and Roshni asks for Jaggu's help in finding her father Prakash. Jaggu tells Prakash that her own daughter is in jail in Hong Kong. Prakash goes to visit Roshni in jail as her attorney. Prakash is really emotional, but doesn't divulge that he is her father. He tells Roshni to accept that she brought the drugs for personal use, and she would go to jail for a few years. As a smuggler, she will be put to death. Roshni refuses to accept a crime that she did not commit. Prakash gets Rahul's photo from a camera in Roshni's luggage. Inspector Phillip wants a bribe of $50,000 to arrest Rahul. Jaggu enters a street fight contest to earn the money to pay off Phillip. Phillip changes the drugs to talcum powder, and Prakash manages to get bail for Roshni at the next court hearing. Roshni starts loving Jaggu. However, a Hong Kong Officer Lee Ming suspects Phillip of foul play and starts investigating the case. Phillip is arrested for bribery and the court convicts Roshni of drug smuggling and sentences her to death. Back in prison, Angela is shot to death as per her sentence, along with her brother. The only way out now is for Roshni to escape prison. Prakash finds that 7 prisoners escaped in WW II from the prison where Roshni has been kept, by using a tunnel network underneath the jail. Jaggu gets arrested for vandalism and is sent to prison. He runs afoul of the jailer and the female cop, themselves lovers, who beat him in front of Roshni. Jaggu ends up in the medical ward. Prakash works to help them escape by arranging a fake passport for Roshni. Roshni bribes the female guard to let her visit Jaggu, but the guard takes the money and refuses to let Roshni go to Jaggu. A fight ensues between Roshni and the female guard, in which the latter is killed. The warden intervenes when Roshni reaches Jaggu and they try to escape the jail via the drain system under the prison. Jaggu attacks and kills the warden. They escape the jail and return to India with the help of tickets and passports arranged by Prakash. At the Hong Kong airport, Prakash is questioned by the police, and Roshni learns that he is her father, and that he had fled the country years earlier when he had been wrongfully accused of treason. Later at Rahul's house, Rahul admits that he had been dealing with drugs that resulted in Roshni's arrest. She slaps him for deceiving her and gets him arrested. With Prakash's blessings, Roshni and Jaggu get married.

"This film narrative takes place over seven days during which time Manek Mulla, a young man barely out of his teens, tells three stories about himself. These stories revolve around Manek's involvement with women. In each case one or another circumstance leads to his separation from his beloved. The tone of the stories is tongue-in- cheek and sometimes borders on the fantastic and surreal. There is consistency and ambiguity a blurring of distinction between the real and the invented. For Menak Mulla, the purpose of telling these stories is to define the meaning of love. As it transpires, none of the stories Manek tells actually define Love. If they do, they define what love is not. The film is a comedy but not without a twinge of pain and a sense of loss. "
