Alex (Jack Gore), a socially reclusive boy who recently lost his father in a fire, reluctantly attends a summer camp in southern California called "Rim of the World". He meets two other "misfits" - Zhen Zhen (Miya Cech), an initially mute, adorable orphan girl from China (who bribed her way into America to attend camp), and Dariush (Benjamin Flores Jr.), an outspoken boy from a rich family. Logan (Andrew Bachelor) is the leader of Alex's group. Alex can't do the zip line activity due to his fear of heights. One afternoon, while in a lake, Zhen Zhen wanders off into the woods, looking for the lookout point she had seen on a camp poster, while Alex attempts to follow. He comes across Dariush, who happens to be nearby answering the call of nature. Dariush mistakenly tries to 'cure' Alex's fear of heights by making him stand near a cliff edge, and Gabriel (Alessio Scalzotto), a boy they hadn't seen at camp before, intervenes. Zhen Zhen, hearing the commotion, comes back down and meets up with the boys. At that moment, they all receive alarming texts advising they immediately evacuate the area. The 4 see explosions in the upper atmosphere and later realize that those were EMP bursts that knocked out all electronics on Earth. While hurrying back, they find out that other campers have left the lake and they witness alien ships invading the valley. The kids head back to the camp, and afterward discover the camp to be empty of people - all except for Conrad, a camp counselor. Suddenly, a Dragon spacecraft fleeing the International Space Station lands heavily nearby. The dying astronaut inside the spacecraft gives Alex a key, with instructions that it should be taken to NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab (JPL) facility in Pasadena, and that it was the only way to destroy the aliens. An alien appears with its "dog" and kills the astronaut. Alex and his friends try to hide out and Conrad gets killed, but the kids manage to elude the aliens and escape the camp. JPL is 70 miles away, but ZhenZhen suggests that they don't need to go all the way to Pasadena and that they can hand over the key to a Govt official, who will take it rest of the way. They make their way to the sheriff's office and discover an inmate, Lou (Scott MacArthur), who has been left behind in the cells. Lou claims to have a son waiting for him, so an empathetic Alex decides to release him before the group continues on their way to JPL. Later, the group encounters Marines who are evacuating civilians. The commander gratefully takes the key and puts the children on a bus to safety. However, alien ships attack the vehicle convoy, and the soldiers are killed, whereupon Alex retrieves the key from the dying commander and the group sets out for JPL once more. During the night, after briefly taking refuge in Gabriel's old house, Gabriel explains that he is an escapee from Juvenile detention, where he was placed due to a misunderstanding at his mother's store, in which a customer assumed Gabriel was attempting to steal his change at the cash box, unaware of Gabriel's Dyscalculia. Sometime after, they are attacked by a gang of masked individuals, led by Lou, who reveals himself as a murderous thief and tricked the group into releasing him. He agrees to let the kids go, but only if Alex gives him the key, which Lou thinks he can sell on the black market. Alex refuses and Lou attempts to kill Alex with a knife, but right before Lou attacks him, the alien from the camp appears and attacks them all. Lou and his men are killed, but the kids manage to escape after trapping the alien in a backyard swimming pool. While they are walking in the forest, Dariush and Gabriel fight and Dariush reveals that his father lost their car dealership, meaning he will go to jail, hence the reason why Dariush was placed at camp. Suddenly, they receive on their transmitter an S.O.S. from the doctor at JPL they were instructed to give the key to, encouraging them to move forward with their journey. The kids walk into a mall and change clothes. After that, the group takes a Ford Mustang in the parking lot, which they discover Zhen Zhen is able to drive, to quickly journey the rest of the way to JPL, but they are again attacked by the pursuing alien. They abandon the vehicle while trying to escape the alien and realize that they left the key in the car. Dariush attempts to go alone to get the key, only to be injured by the alien in the process but manages to get away with the key. The group finally make it to the JPL facility, but find that the doctor is dead, and his S.O.S. message was only a result of his blood dripping onto his transmitter. The kids are able to make radio contact with a general at NORAD, who explains that the key holds information that can be used to destroy the alien mothership in orbit via a Cold War defense project named Excalibur. Zhen Zhen goes into the basement to start the emergency generators, where she is attacked by an alien dog, while Alex goes to the roof to realign the communication dish, where he is attacked by the alien. Zhen Zhen manages to lock the dog in the basement and returns to the command room to help Gabriel and the injured Dariush insert the keys that will launch the Excalibur weapon. Zhen Zhen, Dariush, and Gabriel evacuate the JPL building, while Alex lures the alien into an engine test room and kills it with the engine's exhaust. The teens watch from the ground as the alien mothership is blown up in the atmosphere. Alex is reunited with his mother and the children are celebrated as heroes.

Three friends (Alexxx (Adam DeVine), Darren (Anders Holm), Joel (Blake Anderson)) work as housekeepers at a luxury hotel in Los Angeles. Alexxx has crazy business ideas like hot tutors for kids or $20/month plan for jeans rentals. He wants to make it big in life and not clean toilets for a living. Cassie (Aya Cash) is their supervisor at the hotel. Mitch (Daniel Stern) is the hotel manager. Cassie reports the trio's inappropriate behavior (yelling at guests and getting high) to Mitch, but he dismisses her saying "boys will be boys". Mitch informs them that a huge party is headed to their hotel, and Mr. Ahmad (Jamie Demetriou) is the personal attache of the Bey of Tunisia Bae Awadi (Utkarsh Ambudkar). Alexxx sees this as a huge opportunity to pitch their business idea to the Bey and get funding. the friends agree to pitch Skintendo, a video game that they have been developing. When Alexxx leaves to get supplies, Darren and Joel discuss how they have been working on Skintendo without Alexxx. Unknown to anyone, terrorists enter the building via the basement, impersonating the Bey's security team. The terrorists are led by Conrad (Neal McDonough), Erma (Rhona Mitra), hacker Donald (Sam Richardson). Conrad is working with Ahmad. Alexxx and his friends use the party in the evening to get close to Bae and pitch him the idea of Skintendo. Turns out the Bey is as crazy as the trio and likes the idea. Bey agrees to invest $200,000 over-ruling Ahmad's protests against the investment. As the boys leave with the check, Mitch takes the check from them and returns it to Ahmad. Conrad enters with Erma and takes control of the party. Outside, Mitch fires the trio and as they leave, Erma enters and cuts off Mitch's penis (Mitch was hitting on her all evening). Alexxx comes back to confront Ahmad and Mitch and finds Erma standing over Mitch's dead body. He runs before Conrad and Erma can catch him. Donald enters the security room and takes control of the hotel building. All hotel staff are taken to the roof which is rigged with explosives. The trio find all exits guarded, and their phones were confiscated by Mitch earlier in the day. They hide inside a room, when 2 of the terrorists come conducting a room-to-room search. The trio hide waiting for the right moment to attack. The terrorists Rich (Steve Howey) and Jared (Mac Brandt) proceed to have gay sex in the room and are attacked. Rich is killed by Joel and an enraged Jared slips and splits his head open on the side table. Conrad wants Bae to transfer $500 MM into an offshore account and presses him for the access codes, else he will kill his friends in the party one by one. Meanwhile The trio figure a plan to make a zip line across to a window cleaning bench at the next building. They rig an ironing board to carry them over. But then Rich (who was only injured by Joel), awakens, and attacks them and all 3 get onto the ironing board at the same time. Rich hangs off the window, while the board gets stuck halfway between the 2 buildings. The police arrive. As they try to enter from the front entrance, they are attacked and call for back up. In the heat of the moment Joel and Darren reveal that they have been working on Skintendo without Alexxx. The trio get into a fight, the zip line breaks, and they crash into the security room, just when Donald was entering the access codes into the computer to finish the transfer. The computer is smashed. Donald gets tied up in the zip line and when rich climbs back up, the bed (to which the zip line was tied to, falls) falls and takes Donald down with it. Donald is dead. Joel figures that Donald's phone had Ahmad's number as the last dialed. Joel calls Ahmad and Bae sees that Conrad ignores that Ahmad has a phone (while all others were confiscated). This reveals to Bae that Ahmad was working with Conrad all along. Turns out Conrad was only working for Ahmad and Ahmad shoots him dead. Alexxx speaks to Ahmad and the trio also confirm that Ahmad is the ringmaster of the hostage situation. Ahmad releases a video to the US govt asking for $500 MM ransom for 106 hostage and a helicopter to fly out of the US. Any attempt to attack the building will trigger the collar explosive around the hostage's neck. He promises to shoot 1 hostage every 15 mins. The trio plan to use all the Salvia drugs in Alexxx's room to stone the hostages and their gunners in the conference room and take control over. They head to the AC ducts to plug their device in, but Erma tracks them down. She shoots the device, but the trip escape and Erma inhales a huge amount of Salvia. The trio team up to fight off one of her men and kill him in the hotel kitchen. Meanwhile Ahmad kills Bey's dog and makes hostages fight each other to the death every 15 mins. The trio are tracked down by Rich, who holds them at gunpoint. Rich ties the trio down in the spa room and starts torturing them, but they gang up on him and shoot him dead. Darren and Joel team up to make a Skintendo out of Rich's corpse. Basically, they rig the outside of his body with electronic controllers, which can be manipulated to mimic orders given via an iPad. They get Rich to enter the conference room and take out a few bad guys, before the batteries overheat and Rich blows up into pieces. The trio follow Rich and corner Ahmad at gunpoint. But that's when Erma recovers and enters the conference room. Ahmad escapes with the money (paid by the Govt), but Joel uses the moment to reveal he is gay and proceeds to bitch slap Erma. Erma has the upper hand the entire fight, but then Mitch enters and throws his dick at Erma, distracting her, giving Joel the opportunity to impale her on a piece of wood. The guys head to the roof and convince Ahmad to exchange Bey for the bags of money he left behind. Ahmad agrees and takes off with the money. But the guys had put all the collar explosives in the money bags and when the hostages leave the hotel, they trigger the bombs, which explode inside the helicopter, killing Ahmad. Bey refuses to write the guys another checks for Skintendo and he admits that he only wrote the first check to anger Ahmad. But then Mark Cuban steps up. Apparently, he was a hostage. He is not interested in the Skintendo but offers to buy the trio's story and turn it into a video game. The video game is "Game Over, Man". 2 years later, the trio are rich and having a party on a yacht. But unknown to them, they are being pursued by Somali pirates.

Josh is invited for dinner and shows Margot that he has already booked a ticket to visit Margot for Thanksgiving in Scotland. Margot breaks up with Josh, but her leaving leaves Lara Jean feeling alone. Margot and Josh had been together for only 2 years, and Josh was Lara Jean's first friend. They didn't want her to feel alone or left out, so they even invited her on their dates. Margot later tells Lara Jean that before their mother died, she told her never to go to college with a boyfriend. Lara Jean feels too awkward to hang around Josh again, leaving her with only one other friend, Christine (Madeleine Arthur). Christine is Gen's cousin. Peter and Gen are the "it" couple in school. Margot, Lara Jean and Kitty are 2nd generation Korean-Americans living in America with their widowed father (John Corbett). Lara Jean is in the 11th grade, while Kitty is in the 6th grade. Their father is a gynecologist. One night while hanging out with her little sister, Kitty (Anna Cathcart), Lara Jean falls asleep on the couch, allowing Kitty to sneak into Lara Jean's room and find her collection of letters. Over the weekend Gen breaks up with Peter. The following Monday at school, Lara Jean is confronted by a former crush of hers, Peter (Noah Centineo). Peter reveals he was mailed his letter, causing Lara Jean to faint. After waking up, she sees Josh approaching with a letter of his own, and in a moment of panic Lara Jean kisses Peter before running off. Lara Jean then encounters another recipient of a letter, Lucas (Trezzo Mahoro), who comes out as gay as she realizes all the letters have been mailed. Lara Jean and Lucas had shared a dance at the Freshman Homecoming event. Kenny's letter was addressed to the camp where they met, and hence was returned back to Lara Jean. Her father figures that maybe the box went out with the charity boxes full of Margot's old stuff. Kitty is too afraid to say anything seeing how panicked Lara Jean is around the house. When Josh arrives at the house to meet Lara Jean, she climbs out of her bedroom window to escape. Peter finds Lara Jean at a cafe, and she admits that she sent 5 letters and only one of them to Peter. Lara Jean then explains to Peter she was merely causing Josh to think she lost interest in him. Peter is surprisingly okay with this and proposes he and Lara Jean fake date each other to make his ex-girlfriend (and Lara Jean's ex-best friend) Gen (Emilija Baranac) jealous. She agrees, and the next few months go by with the whole school, along with their respective friends and families, believing the lie. However, when Peter finds Gen actually jealous, he finds himself conflicted on his true feelings. Meanwhile, Lara Jean finds herself jealous at the two. Her dad and Christine, both agree that this is the happiest they have ever seen Lara Jean. Eventually, the two go on the school ski trip together, where they confront each other about their true feelings. They proceed to hook up while alone in a hot tub. After the trip ends, Gen confronts Lara Jean, revealing Peter spent the night in her room after they hooked up. She taunts Lara Jean with her favorite scrunchy, which she took from Peter. Furious, Lara Jean breaks up with Peter and storms home, where she finds Margot has returned from college. Peter then comes to her house, hoping to explain that nothing happened between him and Gen, but Josh arrives as well. Margot overhears everything and is visibly upset when she learns of Lara Jean's former feelings for Josh. Things are worsened when after Lara Jean asks Peter to leave, she sees a video of her and Peter in the hot tub has been put up on Instagram. Lara Jean asks for Margot's help, who calms down and comforts her sister. Kitty then reveals she sent the letters. While Lara Jean is enraged, Margot calms her down when she asks why the letters had addresses on them. Lara Jean realizes she may have wanted to send them but was too afraid to do so, and the sisters forgive each other before emailing Instagram to get the video taken down. After Christmas break, Lara Jean discovers everyone knows about the video anyway and theorizes that Gen posted it, while Peter tries to tell everyone that nothing happened. Lara Jean confronts Gen about the video, who reveals she tried to sabotage their relationship as she felt betrayed when Lara Jean kissed Peter in middle school during spin-the-bottle. After talking with her dad and reevaluating the relationships in her life, Lara Jean talks to Josh, who agrees to be friends again. When she hesitates to tell Peter about her real feelings, Kitty shows her notes that he wrote during their 'relationship'. Lara Jean goes to see Peter, and he tells her that he is in love with her. They kiss before walking off together. John (Jordan Burtchett), a recipient of Lara Jean's letter who she knew in the fifth grade arrives at her door with flowers in hand.

Twelve-year-old Cole Johnson is bullied by his neighbor Jeremy, but his babysitter Bee stands up for him and scares Jeremy off. The following day, when his parents go out for an overnight stay at a hotel, Bee and Cole spend quality time together until he has to go to bed. Cole is encouraged by a text from his neighbor and best friend Melanie to go see what Bee gets up to after he goes to sleep. To his surprise, he sees what looks like Bee and several of her high school friends: Max, John, Allison, Sonya, and Samuel. They are playing a game of truth or dare formatted as a game of spin the bottle. However, as Bee kisses Samuel on a dare, she pulls two daggers from behind her back and stabs him in the skull. The others collect Samuel's blood, revealing themselves to be members of a demonic cult. Cole hurries to his room where he calls 911, puts on his shoes, and finds a pocket knife. He pretends to be asleep as Bee and the cult members enter his room to draw a blood sample. After they leave, he tries to escape out the window but Bee stays in the room, and Cole passes out from the exhaustion. Bee and her cult question Cole, while fending off his questions by saying it was a science project. When the cops arrive, Max kills one with a poker, but the cop accidentally shoots Allison in her breast, whereas Bee and Max kill the other cop. Bee forces Cole to give them the police code to call off the other cops. While Allison complains about being shot, Cole rushes up the stairs; John pursues him, but is pushed over the banister, landing on a trophy that impales his neck. Cole escapes out his bedroom window and hides in the crawlspace under his house. Although Sonya finds him, he traps her in the basement and then ignites a firework rocket and bug spray to blow her up. After showing appreciation for Cole's ingenuity, Max chases Cole up the old tree house; he is killed when he falls and is hanged by the rope swing. Cole escapes to Melanie's house, but Bee follows him. While hiding in a room, Cole apologizes to Melanie for dragging her into this situation and assures her that he is going to take care of things. He asks Melanie to call the police, then she kisses Cole before he leaves. Cole returns to his house to find Allison, who tries to kill Cole with a kitchen knife; she is instead shot in the head with a shotgun by Bee. Bee explains to Cole that when she was young, she made a deal with The Devil to get whatever she wanted by sacrificing innocent people and spilling their blood on the ancient book while reciting its verses. Although she wants him to join her cause, Cole refuses and burns the spell book. He rushes to Melanie's house to take her dad's car, and drives it straight towards his house while Bee fixes the book in the living room. After crashing into her, they have one last emotional farewell before Cole climbs out of the wreckage. As the police and emergency crew arrive, Cole tells his parents that he no longer needs a babysitter. Later, a firefighter going through Cole's house is attacked by Bee.
