She then asks for money ($500) as Madison is conscious about her small breasts and wants a breast enlargement surgery for her own self confidence. But Penny is chased by the police due to the complaint of a previous victim, and she decides that she needs a few weeks away till things cool down in Australia. Josephine (Anne Hathaway) is a sophisticated con artist with employees under her wing who cons some of the largest billionaires of the country. Josephine hangs around the casinos in the South of France and pretends to have won a lottery of $87 million. Josephine attracts a Danish billionaire named Mathias (Casper Christensen) who has lost big time at the tables (and the casino is no longer extending him anymore credit and won't take jewelry as collateral), with a large cache of her chips and pretending to be new to gambling. The billionaire gives her a large jewelry to buy her chips. She is then "arrested" by the police inspector Brigitte (Ingrid Oliver) (in reality her employees), for being a con artist and for having stolen the chips from an old man named Albert (Nicholas Woodeson). Josephine has to return the jewelry but swaps it for a fake. Their idol is the legendary con artist "Medusa" whose real identity is unknown. The two con artists finally meet on their way to the French Riviera (on a train to Beaumont-Sur-Mer), while Penny tries to persuade a man to buy her a free dinner (pretending that she is trying to raise money for her sister who has been kidnapped). Penny and Josephine are in the same compartment for the night, and Penny admits that she is a con artist, when Josephine asks about her sick sister. At first Josephine convinces Penny that Beaumont-Sur-Mer is a lesbian town, and that she should try her schemes at the next town on the railway line. But the next day, Josephine sees Penny ride into town with a billionaire named Gregor, who was supposed to be Josephine's next target. Penny gets arrested based on a complain by the conned billionaire Gregor (it was a fake arrest orchestrated by Josephine designed to scare Penny away from her town). Josephine bails her out (by taking $8000 of Penny's money to "bribe" the police) and insists her to leave the country as Gregor is a member of the Russian mafia. Josephine drops Penny at the airport where Mathias sees them talking. Mathias confronts Penny on the plane and wants his real bracelet back. Mathias says that his bracelet is worth $500 K and now his wife is filing for divorce as he doesn't have it. Mathias asks Penny is the police woman is part of the hustle. Penny finds out she was conned by Josephine, and she seems to be angered and thinks of revenge. Penny returns to the town asks Josephine to take her under her wing and teach her how to con the way she does. Josephine has no option as Penny threatens to expose her. It works at first as Josephine trains Penny on the physical and psychological aspects of being a female con artist. Josephine entices a Texan billionaire Howard (Dean Norris) to get engaged on the pretext that she is a bankrupt Royal Princess. But then, after rings are exchanged, she introduces Howard to her insane sister Hortence, and says that it is a family tradition that once the marriage is consummated, the younger sister gets to bed the groom or to engage him in a duel. Howard bolts, leaving his expensive ring behind. They repeat the con on multiple rich billionaires. But Josephine refuses to pay Penny any money for her work. Penny leaves to start out on her own and starts to cut into Josephine's con schemes before she can lure the victims. The two try to trap a millionaire at the same time but plot fails miserably. The two then decide to compete to trick a rich technology wizard, Thomas Westerburg (Alex Sharp) out of $500K (which is also Penny's entire net worth). The loser has to leave the country for good. Penny acts as a blind girl (blindness caused due to psychological reasons) who needs 500,000 USD for a corrective surgery that can only be performed by a doctor she made up (Dr Schafhausen). Josephine learns her plot and decides to take the role of Dr Schafhausen who just happens to be visiting the French riviera for a holiday. Thomas begs Josephine to take up Penny's case. Josephine uses every trick in her book to torture Penny in front of Thomas and to get her to give up the act. Schafhausen tells Thomas not to give Penny any money, as that would make her accept that she is truly disabled and then no amount of treatment could help her. Thomas just keeps going along with the flow. Schafhausen tries to shock Penny through various methods (blowing in her face, making her eat toilet dipped food, pretending to hit her with her own walking stick, running into a door, making her run long distances, seducing Thomas in front of Penny) to get her to admit that she can see and is cured. Penny begins to fall for Thomas when she sees that he is a nice guy who wants to create a new application, and both try to get hands on the prize. Thomas tells Penny that he was bought by seed investors for $ 1 MM (for his existing application) and he only has $400 K in the bank and will borrow $ 100 K from his Nana to help Penny. Penny is moved on hearing that Thomas would go broke to help out a stranger. That night Josephine tries to seduce Thomas, but Thomas sends her to a shower and robs her before locking her in his room. Then Thomas gets to Penny, and she gives him USD 500 K as investment in his company. Thomas leaves just before Josephine arrives and reveals that's Thomas was the con. Thomas tricks both women into giving him money for his app, revealing himself to be the grandson of a notorious con artist named Medusa. Thomas meets the ladies again sometime later and proposes that they become a team and together they form a stronger con group.

Debbie Ocean recruits a crew of specialists for the biggest heist of her life involving a 150 million dollars in diamonds around the neck of world-famous actress Daphne Kluger.

In prison, Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock), younger sister of the late Danny Ocean, attends a parole hearing and vows not to meet any person with a criminal background, if she is released. This includes most of her extended family and Debbie calls Danny a criminal. Debbie is released from prison, and she immediately goes to a high-end retail store and steals many items by pretending to return them, and then when the counter girl refuses the return without a receipt, she simply walks out of the store with them. She then goes into a high-end hotel, overhears a couple checking out and then calls in to extend their reservation by a day. Then she orders the maid into the room by calling reception and walks into the room while the maid is still cleaning up. She then unpacks and spends the day and night relaxing in the hotel room. A day or two later, Debbie meets with her former partner-in-crime Lou (Cate Blanchett) to convince her to join a heist that she planned while serving her sentence. Lou is running a bit scam by mixing water in vodka bottles that she serves in her bar. While Debbie is visiting Danny Ocean's resting place at a local mortuary, the elderly Reuben (Elliot Gould) appears and tries to talk to her to back out from her planned job, but Debbie has made up her mind. Debbie and Lou assemble the rest of their team: Rose Weil (Helena Bonham Carter), a disgraced fashion designer who is deeply in debt with the IRS; Amita (Mindy Kaling), a jewelry maker and friend of Debbie's who is eager to move out of her mother's house and start her own life; Nine Ball (Rihanna), a computer cracker; Constance (Awkwafina), a street hustler and pickpocket; and Tammy (Sarah Paulson), a profiteer and another friend of Debbie's who has been secretly selling stolen goods out of her family's suburban home. Debbie plans to steal the Toussaint, a $150 million Cartier necklace, from the Met Gala in five weeks, and use Met Gala co-host Daphne Kluger (Anne Hathaway), a dim-witted and snobby actress, as an unwitting mule/accomplice who will wear the necklace into the gala. After the team manipulates Daphne into choosing Weil as her stylist (by setting up Weil's meeting with Daphne's rival for met gala showcase), Weil and Amita go to Cartier to convince them to let Daphne wear the Toussaint, as well as surreptitiously digitally scan it to later manufacture a zircon duplicate. Nine Ball works on creating a blind-spot on the museum's security cameras to move the necklace. Tammy secures a temporary coordinator position at Vogue and gains access to the gala's seating plan, as well as getting Lou hired as a nutritionist for the event. Debbie hunts down her ex-boyfriend Claude Becker (Richard Armitage), an art dealer who ratted her out to the police when they were discovered for art fraud, which led to her arrest and imprisonment. Debbie manipulates Daphne to invite Becker as her date to the gala. Lou realizes that Debbie is out for revenge on Becker, but Debbie reassures her that everything will be fine. Weil discovers a flaw in the plan: The Toussaint can only be removed using a special magnet carried by the bodyguards hired by Cartier. Nine Ball enlists her younger sister, Veronica, to build a similar magnet in time for the gala. As the gala begins, Daphne consumes soup that Lou spiked, causing her to vomit in the restroom, where Constance takes the necklace. When the necklace is discovered to be missing, the museum is evacuated and searched; Tammy "finds" the duplicate necklace in order to end the search. Meanwhile, Amita retrieves the real necklace and begins disassembling it. She retools it into several pieces of jewelry and gives them to Constance to slip it to each member of the team. One of the real diamonds is planted on Becker. Soon after the gala, the fake necklace is identified when returned to Cartier, and John Frazier (James Corden), an insurance fraud investigator, is called in. Frazier, who has a history with the Ocean family, notices Debbie's presence and suspects her involvement in the heist, but her careful presence on the gala's video footage gives her an unbeatable alibi. Debbie assures Frazier that she does not know where the necklace is, but she may know where part of it is. She negotiates with him to hand over the thief as well as a part of the necklace. After the heist, Daphne joins the ladies, revealing that she already knew about the robbery by analyzing their actions. Dropping her dimwitted persona, Daphne is revealed to have been in on the plan, tipped off by Weil's bad acting, and Debbie and Lou invited her in to keep her from ratting them out. She asks for the eighth cut in exchange for saving them from jail. Daphne visits Becker for a romantic evening, where she finds the diamonds planted on him by Debbie during the gala and sends a picture to Frazier so that he can obtain a warrant to arrest Becker for stealing the necklace. To further frame Becker, Debbie sells pieces of the necklace to actresses disguised as elderly socialites, who in turn sell the jewelry and deposit the money into an account in his name. Becker is arrested. As the eight women celebrate their victory, Daphne asks Debbie and Lou how they each made so much money from the sale of one necklace. Lou reveals that while the gala was being evacuated, Lou and "The Amazing" Yen replaced a Metropolitan Museum of Art display of royal jewels loaned by European royal families with replicas assembled by Amita, escaping with more gems even more valuable than the Toussaint. Each member of the team goes their separate ways with their money: Amita goes to Paris with a man she met on Tinder; Weil pays off her debts and opens her own clothing store; Constance buys a spacious loft in the city and becomes a YouTuber; Tammy expands her business in selling stolen goods; Nine Ball opens a pool bar; Daphne becomes a director; Lou goes on a cross-country road trip; and Debbie returns to Danny's grave to raise a toast to him with a martini in his honor.

A young woman who has been in and out of rehab for the past ten years returns home for the weekend for her sister's wedding. Kym Buchman has been in drug rehab for nine months, during which time she has been clean. She is released temporarily from the facility to attend her sister Rachel Buchman's wedding. During her release, Kym is staying at the family home, where the wedding is taking place. As such, it is like Grand Central Station for the duration of Kym's stay, which may not be the most conducive situation for her in constantly being exposed to the watching eyes of those who know and don't yet know her, but know of her situation. The reunion with her family members starts off well enough, but issues around Kym's release from rehab quickly surface. Kym and Rachel's father, Paul Buchman, wants to make sure that Kym is all right at all times, which to Kym feels instead like he doesn't trust her. Rachel slowly begins to resent Kym's situation taking over what is supposed to be the happiest day of her life, some of which is directed by Kym, some of which isn't. One person present but largely not included in the last minute wedding planning work is Kym and Rachel's mother, Abby, from who Paul is divorced. The two have since married other people. Outwardly, Abby has been nurturing of Kym throughout her life. However, what is one of the key moments in Kym's drug induced life, and in their collective family's lives, may profoundly affect the wedding. Their father is genuinely concerned about Kym's well-being but doesn't see the stress the relationship is causing. Both women also have to deal with their selfish mother who is clearly more concerned with her own well-being ahead of that of her children. Ella must obey any orders that are given to her by anyone. Her mother knew about the spell and did not use it to hurt Ella. Ella's mother dies and a few years later, her father remarries. Her new stepmother has two mean daughters. They find out about the spell, and they begin to order Ella to steal items at the store and do as they wish. Ella runs into the prince and soon falls in love. Ella searches for her fairy godmother and pleads with her to take away the gift, so she can be normal. Douglas Young (the-movie-guy) Ella is born into an ordinary household. Her mother is a fairy and there is another household fairy, Mandy living at their house. Ella's fairy godmother, Lucinda, comes when Ella is just a baby. Ella's mother and Mandy try to hide her, but Lucinda finds Ella and gives her the "gift" of obedience. Because of this, Ella must obey any order given to her by anyone. Even with this curse, Ella grows up to be a strong-hearted young lady. In school, when she is a kid, she saves a girl called Areida and they grow up to be bestfriends. Ella's mother then falls very ill. She tells Ella not to tell anyone about the curse and says "whatever anyone says, what is inside you is stronger than any spell." She then gives Ella her necklace and dies. Now Ella is a grown woman. Her father gives her the news that he has married again, to a rich woman called Dame Olga, because they need the money. Dame Olga and her two daughters Hattie and Olive come to live at their house. Almost immediately, Ella's father goes away on a job. Hattie orders Ella to do things and soon she finds out that Ella has to obey every command. Meanwhile, Prince Char comes to their town with his Uncle who is the temporary king. He is a handsome young man and all the women, including Hattie and Olive has a crush on him. But Ella is against him because she does not like Char's uncle's ruling and she thinks that Char is also like that. Later she meets Char and after he saves her from a horse-drawn carriage coming towards her, they start talking. But they're soon interrupted by Hattie and Olive; Hattie orders off Ella and Olive and tries to chat up Char, but he runs away. Ella and Areida are at the marketplace and Hattie and Olive see them. Hattie orders Ella to steal some glass shoes on a nearby display, but a guard spots her. Ella starts running and after a long chase he catches her. At home, Dame Olga scolds Ella. Hattie tells Ella to say that it was Areida who told her to steal. So when Dame Olga asks, Ella is forced to say Areida and Dame Olga orders Ella to tell Areida that she couldn't ever see her again. Areida comes to see Ella and Ella says what Dame Olga said. Later, Ella decides to go look for Lucinda and ask her to take away the curse. Mandy gives Ella a book and tells her it's Benny, her boyfriend, whom she accidently turned into a book. Benny is able to show Ella a picture of anyone in their present surroundings and also maps and other useful information. Ella asks to see Lucinda and they see that Lucinda is in Giantville because everything else around her is huge. Ella then sets off with Benny. Benny shows Ella a map of the forest. Suddenly they come to a clearing where two people are teasing / hurting an elf. Ella saves the elf, Slannen, and he takes her to an elf restaurant to eat. Meanwhile, an invitation to the Prince's coronation ball arrives for Ella, and Dame Olga, Hattie and Olive get it. Slannen sets off with Ella to look for Lucinda. In the forest they encounter some ogres. Ella was told not to speak and not to move. Then they tied her up and hung her down from a tree branch over a boiling pot. Slannen is tied to another tree. Just as they were lowering Ella to the pot, Prince Char arrives, saves Ella and defeats the ogres. He thinks that the ogres killed his father. Ella talks to Char about how bad the giants are treated, but Char says that his uncle probably doesn't know about that. So he goes to Giantville with Ella and sees that the giants are being treated as slaves. Ella, Char, Slannen and Benny go to a giants' bar where Ella learns that Lucinda has already left the place. Char talks to a giant and tells him that once he becomes king, the giants won't be slaves. Char asks Ella to stay there that night and resume the search for Lucinda tomorrow. They have a fun night at the end of which they kiss. Char tells her that he may be able to help her find Lucinda using the books at the library at his castle. So the next day they go to the castle. At the castle, Char and Ella meet Hattie with a group of other women who are on a tour of the castle. Ella and Char run away and they meet Char's uncle Edgar and his pet snake. Ella is introduced to Edgar and then she goes off to the library with Benny. In the mean time, Char tries to talk to Edgar about the giant enslavement and how the elves aren't allowed to do anything but sing and dance (Slannen wants to be a lawyer). Edgar says they'll talk about it after the coronation ceremony. Char then reveals to Edgar that he plans on asking Ella to marry him at the ball at midnight. Same time and same place where his father proposed to his mother. Ella finds a clue to Lucinda's whereabouts in Benny's book. Meanwhile, Hattie and Olive are chatting with Edgar. Hattie tells Edgar that Ella does everything she's told, that she can't help it. In return, Edgar says that Hattie can have Char's hand in marriage when he becomes king. Edgar then goes to the library and tells Ella that Char will take her to the hall of mirrors and ask her a question. And at the stroke of midnight, Ella has to plunge a dagger (Edgar takes out a dagger) through Char's heart and kill him. Edgar says that it's lucky Ella's here because then he won't have to do it himself. Ella is shocked that he's willing to kill his own nephew. Edgar reveals that in fact, it was he who killed his brother, Char's father, the king. Then Edgar orders Ella's not to tell anyone about this. Ella quickly goes to find Lucinda, but a fairy there tells her that Lucinda was thrown out of there. Beaten, Ella writes a letter to Char saying that they couldn't be together. Then Ella tells Slannen to chain and padlock her to a huge tree in the middle of a meadow, away from the castle. After that she tells Slannen to go to the castle, find Benny, and to keep Edgar away from Char. At 23:30 that night Lucinda suddenly appears in the meadow. Ella begs her to take the gift back. Lucinda is offended and tells her that she has to get rid of it herself. To "prove what a gem she is," Lucinda then unchains Ella from the tree amid her protests and suggests that she should be at the ball dancing with the Prince. Lucinda then magically prepares Ella for the ball with a beautiful white gown. Ella is forced to go to the ball where she immediately meets Char. She tells him that she loves him when he asked to tell him how she really feels about him. Then he tells her to come with him and takes her to the hall of mirrors. The time is 23:57. There Ella starts crying and tries to explain to Char what's happening when he proposes. But Char doesn't understand. All this time, Edgar is watching the whole thing. As the clock strikes midnight, Ella starts sobbing and we see the dagger behind her back. Char hugs her to try to comfort her. Ella raises the dagger over Char, but using all her strength she fights against plunging it into him. She has flashbacks and suddenly remembers what her mother told her before she died. "What's inside you is stronger than any spell." Then Ella screams, "You will no longer be obedient!" and Char looks up and sees the dagger in Ella's hand in the reflection. The spell is broken. Ella drops the dagger but Char thinks that Ella tried to kill him. Edgar barges in and calls the guards and orders them to take Ella away to the dungeon. Char is having trouble believing that Ella might hurt him, so Edgar and his pet snake tell Char that, what happened in the forest with the ogres, was all planned by Ella and the ogres so that she could get close to Char and kill him. Edgar tells Char to concentrate on tomorrow's coronation ceremony and leave Ella to him. Later Edgar tells the snake that he has an idea on how to prevent Char from becoming king. The next day, Slannen comes to the castle with some elfin friends and two giants. They find Benny in the rubbish bin outside. Slannen rescues him and Benny shows them that Ella is in the dungeon. The three ogres from the forest also join them in the rescue mission. They get into the castle by hiding themselves in a carriage driven by Slannen who is disguised as the executioner. Meanwhile, the coronation ceremony is starting. Slannen gets the guard to open the dungeon doors by saying that he is Ella's lawyer. The ogres then disable the guard and Slannen releases Ella. Ella asks Benny to show Edgar. They see Edgar placing a poisoned crown in the place of the original crown. Ella, Slannen, and the others dash off. Just as the poisoned crown is about to be placed on Char's head, they burst through the hall doors and a huge fight erupts. Char jumps in to save Ella. During the fight, Ella explains to Char what really happened right down to where Edgar poisoned Char's crown. Mandy tries to change Benny back to a real man and gets it on the second try and Benny joins in the fight too. Ella then takes Char aside and tells him that Edgar is the one who killed Char's father. Char is unable to believe it and Edgar comes and says, "Of course it's not true. Who are you going to believe, a lying twit or the man who raised you?" At that point Ella sees that Edgar's snake is about to strike Char and steps on it. All the women there attack the snake because it was about to kill their beloved Char. Char finally believes everything Ella told him. Edgar is very angry and starts shouting. In his excitement he forgets that the crown is poisoned and places it on his head and immediately passes out.
